My ninth book for #ReadingAfrica2022 #Malawi 🇲🇼
I earlier compared Little Discoveries (ISBN9789996095542, not in Litsy database) with Kahlil Gibran, which was both premature and unfair, as a comparison could only result in fainter praise for Qabaniso Malewezi's short poems, which are generally very good on their own merits. A couple didn't quite land for me, a bit 'inspirational poster slogan' for me, but overall a charming and... 👇🏼

Little Discoveries (not yet in the database) is a book of short poems by Q. Malewezi, accompanied by photographs and an eye-catching page layout. I've read the first few pages, and they give me the feel of Kahlil Gibran's aphoristic verses in Sand and Foam, which is both encouraging and high praise. I hope the quality continues through the book 🤞🏻 📖🤞🏻
