Bailedbailed

Ugh, the title perfectly explains my experience attempting to read this. 😏
On paper, this book should have been a winner for me…I love nonfiction and throw a crime in there while I‘m learning something and 💥! But nope. I think it may have had something to do with the tone of the narration. Very dry and I couldn‘t care, even at 80% in! Bailed with only a little more to go because life is too short!

TheAromaofBooks Nonfiction is so dependent on the author's ability to make the material engaging! 2y
Megabooks Sorry this didn‘t work. Tbh, I don‘t remember it well. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 2y

Pickpick

This true crime is totally in my wheelhouse! Not only was the story captivating, I learned a lot about the crazy knot of maritime shipping and Lloyds of London, too.

An oil tanker was traveling through the Gulf of Aden when well armed soldiers claiming to be Somali pirates boarded the ship. While the crew was huddled together, a fire started. This led investigators from multiple countries, one of whom was car bombed, to try to unknot the crimes.

Megabooks @Cinfhen this would probably be a good #BorrowNotBuy for you, but we haven‘t been in sync lately, so 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ 2y

I don‘t think I‘ve read this many fiction books right in a row in a long time! But I‘ve started my first nonfiction this month. The true crime I‘ve tagged.
