Does anyone use the Moreland libraries - how visible or hidden are the strikes?

I‘m sad that this isn‘t getting more news coverage - this is the second library strike I‘ve heard of in Melbourne this year and tbh, it‘s a big deal!

Nothing but respect for all these essential council workers who carried their communities through covid lockdowns and are now taking a stand for fair pay and conditions.

KristiAhlers That is just so upsetting to read. This whole pandemic I think was an eye opener as to what really was essential for us to keep us grounded while dealing with fear and uncertainty. They deserve our respect and yes they deserve the pay. Our local library closed so I had to rely on online bookstores and delivery service to get my books. So thankful that was still afforded to me. And thankful for those who left the house and continued to work. 2y
KristiAhlers To be honest books is what kept me sane and entertained when I was stuck in the house for weeks on end. To make matters worse the masks regardless of the fit or type in the beginning triggered my anxiety attacks. So I‘d stay put at home to avoid it all together. 2y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @KristiAhlers, my (work) library closed to the public but for the most part managed to keep getting books out - we did home delivery and click and collect. Melbourne spent a lot of time in hard lockdown - it feels unbelievable now, looking back. I think books really helped a lot of people - so I‘m glad you were still able to get some, when your local library closed. 2y
