Being the Dead Girl
Being the Dead Girl: Book One | T. M. Perkins
1 post | 1 read
Deryn is the Dead Girl. The Dead Girl with missing memories of who she was when she was alive. The popular, prom queen whose body is found on a lonely side road. Deryn is now a wandering dead finding sanctuary at Ravenshaw Sanctuary, run by none other than her great great great grandfather; George Ravenshaw. The sanctuary is supposed to help spirits come to terms with their untimely passing so they can go into the light. Deryn soon realizes the sanctuary is a run-down ghost town, literally, and no one seems to be moving on . . . just disappearing into the unknown. Lost forever. Deryn is determined to not get stuck like the others but at the time of her death, the darkest part of her split away and became a tormented wraith who hunts her every time she enters the land of the living. Together they can become a poltergeist and take out the person responsible for her death. Deryn just needs a single memory to help her solve her murder. Who was she secretly meeting the night she died? Once she does remember she will move on, leaving behind a broken system hurting spirits more than helping them. Deryn soon finds an ally in death himself, Aeneas, and a medium from her school who can see her when she enters the land of the living, named Link. Aeneas has his own agenda for wanting Deryn to stay in Ravenshaw and it includes overthrowing George Ravenshaw.
