I Cried to Dream Again
I Cried to Dream Again: Trafficking, Murder, and Deliverance -- a Memoir | Sara Kruzan
1 post | 1 read | 1 to read
"At once disturbing and empowering, the memoir of a courageous woman, who, between the ages of thirteen and sixteen, was manipulated, exploited, and abused as a sex worker; who killed her pimp/father figure--and was unjustly sentenced to life in prison without parole. 'I was 11 when I met GG. I realized later that he had to have been aware of the chaos that was my life, because he played me perfectly'"--

Having recently listened to the audiobook of Earhustle (tagged below), I wanted to continue to learn about prison life and the circumstances of one‘s life that lead to imprisonment. This was a great follow up, although Kruzan‘s story is painful and difficult to read at times. This is a short audiobook and I can definitely tell she had a co-author, as some of the passages feel distant. A similar story to Cyntoia Brown Long‘s.
