Pickpick

Because there is a book for everything…..I picked this up yesterday at JoAnn‘s. An experienced knitter will see I messed up the rib stiching on the brim of this maybe hat. Why is it I can never seem to get the right stitches and right number in?! 🫤 Although it kinda looks like a happy accident. I‘m going with Bob Ross on this one.

I‘ve noticed unless it‘s a large city, if there is a big box craft store there are no small indie yarn shops. ☹️

katy4peas It looks good! That‘s how you learn! 😃 stitch markers are always helpful too if you are serious about wanting to keep the right number of stitches. 😉 #knittersoflitsy (edited) 2y
Tamra @katy4peas thank you - it‘s definitely a learning process which is both frustrating and relaxing! I think I‘m dropping stitches and/or being mindless and not keeping the right order. I do have some stitch markers, but so far I‘ve worked on really simple patterns such I haven‘t needed them. Or maybe I should use them anyway! 😅😅 2y
katy4peas 😊Even with the simple patterns, I find the markers to be helpful. It is one more visual clue for your brain that says “time to switch stitches.” especially if you are tired and trying to work on your project. It also gives a visual clue of how many stitches between markers so you can quickly glance and count or see if you dropped/addd a stitch. I use mine for everything no matter how simple. 😊 2y

Tamra @Cathythoughts it is a pretty burgundy, thanks! I‘m making it for my daughter. I also made a matching scarf! Not perfect, but it‘s a first! 😜 2y
SconsinBookyBadger Nimbleneedles on YouTube has good tutorials. 😊 ETA: It‘s been years but a few other recs I relied on are Knitiversity, The Chilly Dog, and Very Pink Knits. (edited) 2y
