En aquesta obra es relata l'apassionant viatge per terres catalanes d'aquest aliment i els odis i passions que ha generat. Com va arribar a Catalunya? Qui l'ha fabricat? Com i qui se l'ha menjat? El llibre aporta recerca indita sobre aquest aliment i recull l'impacte que ha tingut en la cultura catalana: des dels versos de Miquel Mart i Pol fins a les obres de Picasso, passant per les colleccions de cromos, la publicitat o els records de Josep Maria de Sagarra i el bar de Mald. D'aquesta manera, a partir de la xocolata s'elabora una histria global (de la cultura, la gastronomia, la natura, la cincia, la societat...), una histria dedicada tant als amants de la xocolata com als degustadors de les grans histries de la nostra civilitzaci.

I found something I liked on Wikipedia's On This Day page today: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xicolatada . It's Hot Chocolate Day in Catalonia today, as a hangover cure after Assumption festivities. I know what I'm going to drink today 😁 ☕

Dilara @Graywacke It's true we tend to associate hot chocolate with winter. I guess (but anybody whose tradition it is, please chime in) there are 2 reasons for doing it in August:
- Catalans like their chocolate;
- Thick hot chocolate is a traditional late breakfast all over Spain (and also in French Catalonia?) all year round, and breakfast foods are often consumed after late-night parties. And the feast of Assumption is celebrated on August 15th.

Dilara The heat coming from the wood fires in the middle of the day in August must be something. (Because of course, the chocolate's done in copper cauldrons over wood fires!) 2y
