Temporary Homes
Temporary Homes | Mohamed Warsame
1 post
Born in Kenya and raised in a refugee camp, Mohamed and his family have gained a distinct knowledge of what it's like to be constantly on the move. In this book, we take a deep dive into the psyche of a boy who grows up without getting the chance to get accustomed to any specific home, state of mind, or state of emotion. Temporary homes is a collection of poems by Mohamed Warsame that showcases the idea of humanity as nothing but fleeting feelings and mere moments.

Well, I downloaded this poetry collection thinking it was by Mohamed Ibrahim Warsame, the Somali poet whose obituary I'd just read in the Guardian, and it's not, but it's OK: it's very readable and I'm happy my money is going to a living poet! I do wish I could get hold of a book written by the other Warsame, though...
