This is a lovely “unlikely friendship” story focusing on a Black, divorced, lapsed Baptist & her newly-widowed Jewish neighbor. It touches lightly on issues of racism & friendships across lines of difference, and also explores some heavier issues—divorce, grief, single parenting—but doesn‘t really delve too deeply. I enjoyed it, but it stayed a little too “fluffy” & predictable for me, making it a low pick. And my January #BookSpin is complete!
