aperfectmjk @Catsandbooks I was wondering if #Litsycrafters would be interested in hosting a pumpkin decorating/carving contest for #Scarathlon2022? Entries could earn points in the readathon, then maybe we could collectively decide on a prize? @Clwojick @StayCurious 2y
Catsandbooks @aperfectmjk I thought about that but, one of the activities for scarathlon is a pumpkin carving contest. It's 10 points per entry. So I think they have it covered. 🎃 2y
Catsandbooks @aperfectmjk what about a coloring contest? I'm thinking I could make a scarathlon coloring sheet and people could decorate however they like. Thoughts? @staycurious @clwojick 2y

aperfectmjk @Catsandbooks oh, you're right... I missed that, but, it's just for carving. So, maybe we just open it up to any Halloween craft of your chosen medium. So, if you knit, sculpt, paint, crochet, color, all entries would count. Maybe we could figure out a way for people to vote. Some kind of poll... I'm sure Google probably has this option right? 😆 @Clwojick @StayCurious 2y
Clwojick @Catsandbooks what is the October craft? Maybe we can make something work with that. We do offer 15 points for all Halloween/Spooky crafts already, but if you come up with an idea for a poll relating to your monthly theme, I‘m sure we could make something work! aperfectmjk @Catsandbooks @Clwojick @StayCurious I just thought it would be fun to incorporate #LitsyCrafters in some way. One of the things I love the most about Litsy is how much it truly is a community. This is the best public book forum I have ever been a part of, it has gotten me through some dark days. Anyway... like I was saying if we could bring more attention to #LitsyCrafters, Scarathlon is the event to do it. 2y
Catsandbooks @Clwojick the October craft is watercolor. Which I think would be limiting for a lot of people. My idea would be to make a coloring-esque page and have people decorate it. Whether with traditional crayons or markers, or paint, stickers, digitally, mixed media, whatever. And then have a deadline and we can do a Google form poll and have people vote for winners. @staycurious @aperfectmjk 2y
Clwojick @Catsandbooks okay, I definitely agree. Watercolour is not easy lol. I think the colouring page could definitely work! Are any of you guys artistic enough to create a colouring page, because I know I‘m not! 😅 Neat writing, yes. Drawing, a definite no. 🤣@StayCurious @aperfectmjk 2y
