My Favorite Memories | Sepideh Sarihi
1 post | 1 read
"A young girl is moving to a new country, and there's so much that she wants to bring: an aquarium, a pear tree, her best friend, the ocean. As she moves through the list of the things she loves, she comes to understand that while we cannot always carry things with us physically--maybe they can travel with us in other ways"--Provided by publisher.

Pickpick

Three beauties and one meh. 'My Favorite Memories' is exquisite art and a poignant tale of migration; 'I Talk Like A River' reflects the author's experience with a stutter amidst beautiful paintings of nature; 'Once Upon an Hour' (Korean-Canadian author and illustrator!) is a gorgeous mix of layered cut out paintings and other collaged materials that tells what feels like a folk tale about compassion; 'Wild Symphony' : 🤷🏼‍♂️.
