pickCharlie Boy is the 2nd book I have read by Kim Delmar Corey. I Corey writes children's historical fiction with a wonderful storytelling flare! Home to Mackinac was the 1st book I read & I loved it, not a surprise since Mackinac Island is one of my favorite places! Written with enough historical detail for this adult to enjoy reading, yet the abbreviated story lines within the story - i.e. the Tigers 1st game At Bennett park, is interesting & engaging for kids. Kim has at least 3 other books available & I plan on reading those too and eventually sharing the stories with my grandchildren 🥰 1y
