In the aftermath of a worldwide war between humans and an ancient race known as the magic-born, post-apocalyptic Antarctica is the planet's last habitable continent. Now, hundreds of years in the future, technology has allowed humanity to harness the very magic once used against them. But all magic comes with a cost. In order to liberate those suffering under an oppressive system born of magic, four unlikely heroes must band together: a street urchin with a wellspring of volatile powers, a government prodigy-turned-fugitive, a wealthy corporate CEO, and an exiled warrior of unparalleled strength. Will the bitter cold and mistrust between them prove too potent to overcome? Or can they set aside their differences long enough to destroy magic forever and finally bring true freedom to the last survivors of the human race? Winterspell is a thrilling frostpunk dystopian novel packed with action, adventure, and a hefty dose of magic. It's a mashup perfect for readers of both science fiction and fantasy that reads like a gritty superhero story. Get it now.

Panpan

It took a while for this book to gain some momentum. And then when the characters made their team, it seemed forced. The objective of the team didn‘t seem compelling enough and the female and male dynamic of the team was very stereotypical. It got more interesting with the twist in the last fifth of the book, but overall I was kind of disappointed. Plot seemed promising but the delivery didn‘t grab me.
