This past fall my significant otter took me to Hearst Castle. It is amazing! I failed to take pix in the library, but I would totally read in here which is Hearst‘s office-y space. If you ever get a chance, GO (and there‘s a nearby Elephant Seal colony). It, and Mallory O‘Meara‘s upcoming Lady From The Black Lagoon, has inspired my 2019 reading goals - celebrity / Hollywood memoirs. I‘m making plans and Peter Lorre I‘m coming for you.

BarbaraJean I loved the Hearst Castle library, but felt the same about the study/office—would love to read in either/both spaces! 5y

MMenefee @BarbaraJean I could probably read by the outdoor pool, too. 👙🍸 5y
MMenefee @BarbaraTheBibliophage It is! I took the Hearst and Hollywood tour and our guide was so knowledgable which made it all the more fabulous. 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @MMenefee Oh, that tour sounds cool. When I was there in the 1980s, I don‘t think that was an option. Although we did hear about all those connections. 5y

This memoir, written from tapes recorded by Davies a decade prior to her death, is a delightful look at 1920's Hollywood. #octphotochallenge
