I loved the first book in this trilogy, the second one though was trash and this third book is also pretty poor; it's a shame because it started off alright.

It's a prequel to the brilliant second movie "Aliens" but the characters are poorly developed in this book and I don't think this one adds a single thing to the franchise.

The story itself is not well written, it's shallow and has zero sense of suspense, fear or horror.

UwannaPublishme Too bad...I love all the films. 2y
The_Book_Ninja You‘re doing me a massive favour seeing as two in a row were bad and now I know it👊🏼 2y

🎧📚 Read this book and then saw there was a full cast production!!

Book great & fleshes everything out BUT the full cast was amazing!! If you can, do both! The full cast adds to the book & the book adds to the movie Aliens.

This is Newt & the Xenomorphs origin story. Ripely has a cameo but it basically is showing how Newt ended up where she was & why the Aliens were unleashed.

I really enjoyed the book and full cast production!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/3

Bk4 of June & Bk2 of #LittenListen is done. Today was not one of my best days but I managed to add this audiobook to my total & I‘m over halfway through the 2nd Midsomer Murder on ebook, so I accomplished something! This was set in the timeline of Aliens, a little bit of Ripley but mostly about Newts backstory & how she ended up alone on a station full of monsters. I loved it was a full cast recording, audible does a great job with those. 👇

I enjoyed this book. There's a few bits that overlap with the story Aliens, because this is the story of the colonists on the planet LV426 (called Acheron)... the planet where Ripley first encountered a Xenomorph. This story focuses on Newt and her family.

🎧 I finally got around to listening to this audio drama after pre-ordering it 2+ years ago! This is the back story of Newt— so Ridley doesn‘t play a big role in this third of the Alien novels which serve as interstitial tales between movies. A bit rougher in finish than the first-in-series, ‘Out of the Shadows‘ e.g. Newt‘s brother inexplicably has an Irish accent and, sometimes *who* was speaking was not clear. Nothing new about the xenomorphs.

Audible has just posted for Pre-Sale orders for the third book in the interstitial trilogy (between the first and second movies.) I'm not sure why they skipped the second book in the set; but this one will be released on April 26, 2017. This is an Audible Original Audio Drama (NOT straight narration of the novel itself; and will contain sound f/x and music.) 🎧

Dr Reese frowned. " Not certain of course. There isn't enough data. But aside from the 'births' of the newborn Aliens, their appearances have come mostly at night."
"Mostly," Stam echoed.

On to the final of this trilogy. It's been an awesome ride, with drooling, hissing and dead bodies everywhere... #Aliens #Xenomorph
