I finished #13 in the Trixie Belden series for BobWhiteBuddies a couple of weeks ago but have been really bad about posting reviews. This was one of my favorites growing up. I was excited about the island setting & sailing & Trixie getting a powder blue swimsuit 🩵 & Jim noticing the color (Jim ruined me for high school boys!) 😉😂 I also liked it when he & Trixie dressed up & went to the “dive bar” to listen & spy. ⬇️
February 2025 Book #7
Sorry, unpopular opinion here. I think this book was overhyped for me. That situation at the hotel was so unrealistic to me. Then, we have a character not only with suicidal ideation but also a plan to do it and it was ignored? I have read books with morbid humor like Hagman by Maya Binyam but from the beginning you see the absurd tone. I didn‘t see that in this novel. It was tragic so sad her situation but ignored⬇️

I may take a break from this series only because I do not want to finish these books too fast. But i just had to see Banks through this one book after the previous tumultuous Aftermath‘s journey into the bowels of evil.
January 2025 Book #9
This is the conclusion (supposedly) of Mirren Triggs trilogy) I know first book is already translated (The Snow Girl) which is a Netflix series.
I liked the conclusion. At the end we see a mature Mirren who decides to make a choice in her relationship and life in general. The case in this story is so sad. A body was found with his “mouth sewn” and a father looking for his son who disappeared 30 years ago. 3.8/4⭐️
Book 3 of this series and I'm still not fussy on the style of the writing but the stories are cute, and I'm interested in how the conclusion comes about. #13-2025
A dark, hauntingly beautiful ghost story that perfectly captures Schwab‘s signature eerie storytelling. With zero romance and a focus on atmosphere, identity, and the thin veil between the living and the dead, Schwab once again crafts a world that is twisted and gothic, but never overly graphic. A must-read if you like quiet horror and lyrical, immersive storytelling. Book #13 in 2025
