The Guardian has an interesting article about books people read during the different lockdowns. I found some of my reads! It‘s fascinating that at the beginning of this whole pandemic, people were determined to read long & more complicated ‚classics‘, but soon many switched over to comfort reads, like Sally Rooney of cookbooks.

ravenlee I remember seeing a lot of people talking about learning instruments and languages, reading classics, and similar projects - and claiming that if you couldn‘t do that sort of stuff you don‘t have any initiative/work ethic. But we all quickly realized we didn‘t have the attention span at the time, as the whole world was in flux. I know it took me a couple months to be able to concentrate on anything at all, and it‘s still a challenge. 3y

He‘s really honest in this title for a speech turned article from 1998/1999. Still, it‘s totally worth the read. I adore his writing, even when it‘s a speech. He just always seems to be telling you a story, one way or the other.

I found a website that displays both speeches in parallel. Of course I printed them so I could mark the changes.
