#BannedBookRecommendation
This is the one and only book I actually had some one rip me a new one because I was reading this to my daughter.
We have read this as a family. Listened to the audiobooks on trips. Of all the books - this book has sparked conversations on friendship, peer-pressure, doing the right thing when no one else is with you, racism, mentorship, outright evil (Voldemort), and concealed evil (Umbridge)
I could go on. and on.

Readergrrl I am glad to hear that you continued to read this despite someone else‘s opinion. I‘ve become convinced that most book banners have never actually read the book they want banned. And, not to stir the pot, but I believe that Harry Potter has taught children much more about friendship, family, compassion, faith in humanity, and morality than some other *ahem* books I‘ve read. 5y
Slajaunie My daughter began to read these when she was in the third grade. People kept telling not to allow her to read them that they encouraged magic and such. I decided to read them myself to find out. I fell in love! We did the midnight releases of the books and movies after that. It was years of shared love of the books for my daughter and me. We had HP parties and dressed up. It was wonderful and I wish I could do it all again with her. 5y
