"From that most holy wave I now returned to Beatrice; remade, as new trees are renewed when they bring forth new boughs, I was pure and prepared to climb unto the stars."

Just finished the wonderful Purgatorio. Not as exciting as Inferno, but still a wonder to behold what the human mind is capable of creating. Excellent work, Mr. Alighieri. #DiversityMonday #WNDB #WeNeedDiverseBooks #ItalianBooks #ChristianBooks #TheDivineComedy #IlPurgatorio

BookishFeminist I still need to read this! The prose just gets me every time. It's so dense 😂 3y
OSChamberlain @BookishFeminist I may be a weirdo for saying it but I sure do love me some sense writing. I like to work for my bookish enjoyment 😜 3y
JoeStalksBeck I'm a Dante fanatic. I've researched the entire history of this epic poem . It's breath taking and staggering the story behind it all 3y

JoeStalksBeck @BookishFeminist read the history first . Like look up all the characters and why they are where they are in his hell, limbo and paradise . It makes the story so much more clear . It's what I had to do and now I'm addicted lol 3y
OSChamberlain @Bookworm4ever very true! I'm glad I liked it because over the next 4 months I'll be writing a huge paper on Dante and exile. 3y
JoeStalksBeck Awesome ! If you need any help I'm in! 3y
OSChamberlain @Bookworm4ever thanks so much! I'll keep that in mind 😁 3y
