This was a wonderful read, I just finished it but I know it works. Because I applied some of the principles I'd read today, during my speech. It was a presidential debate like event, where 4 of my other competitors also spoke. I applied the pathos to best use, mixing humor and adding logos to the mix. Guess what! I won the debate(also the elections)!

Now take this from President of a School Parliament : read it, it's filled with knowledge.

What a book! This is such a helpful collection of fallacies we face on a daily basis. The author does a great job of providing brief descriptions and examples of each fallacy making learning them a cinch. Highly recommend if you want to understand improved thinking.

Day 29 of #scarathlondailyprompts is knife.
Grabbed this at a library sale a few years ago. It seemed fun for my Encyclopedia Brown fan son and myself to solve together. They were all way, way too difficult for us! lol

I came across several relics of the past this afternoon, including this summer reading list from 1991, when I was 13. It runs to 55 titles over three pages, and I have little to no recollection of any of the books on the list, other than Sideways Stories from Wayside School which shows up at number 50 😆 Any of these ring a bell for anyone else?!

I‘ve been intrigued by the way people think since I was a teenager. I made a professional career out of dissecting people‘s faulty thinking and teaching them how to challenge those irrational thoughts. I‘m always interested in learning more thinking errors for my own growth as well as the population I serve. Dobelli examines the cognitive biases we engage on a daily basis. I can definitely see how a physical copy of this book would be helpful.

IuliaC Great review and lovely photo! I've got this book on my to read list too 2y

This little #nonfiction book really does a good job of laying out poor arguments and flimsy reasoning.
It's a quick but informative read that will broaden your understanding of solid conversation skills.
