pickWhat is Yanagihara trying to tell? Are the books even related? And the names made my head spinning. I enjoyed all three books and the writing but I am not loving it like many of you did. Too little of a reward after 700 pages! I still don‘t know what to think but am tending to think in line with the overall bleakness of the book.

Perhaps only in certain themes. I loved the first and third books, liked the second one. Loved the writing. AmyG It bugged me too for a while-but it passes. The names….who remembers anymore? I remember reading in an interview with her something about chaos theory. That always stuck with me. How some things happened to shape our world the way it is-and how our world could have been shaped in a million different ways. As with our entire world (macrocosm) and our individual world (microcosm). Oh yeah-I thought about this for weeks. 😂 2y
