pickDay 11: Misunderstood
I understand why we ask teenagers to read the classics because when else are some of them going to be exposed to it? But sadly I think that their small egocentric world view sometimes inhibits their appreciation for literature. I love The Scarlet Letter but when my daughter and her friends had to read it as Juniors, they hated it. Sigh.

lauraodom Not that we shouldn‘t have them read it! But I think we all should go back as adults and re-read some things we “had” to read in high school. I‘m sure we‘d have a much different take on some of the stories. 6y
