#FebruaryWrapUp. 3 bingos and #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin read. It was unusual month as I normally read equally between print, digital and audio but half of my February books were in print. 16 books 5958 pages a very good month 😊

wisherwishinguponastar Congrats! I must say that I love a good graph, especially when it has fun info! 13mo
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! Great month!! 13mo

I only read one non fiction book in February but it was a winner off my #AuldLangSpine list and is the best of the year so far.

Amiable It's long enough that it should count as 2! :) 13mo

Pickpick

This book was 11 years in the making and I think it would have been incredibly hard to write an unbiased account of all the players in Roe v Wade. I think Prager did that. It is long. I listened on audio, got lost a couple of times and cringed a bit at some of the descriptions. It is complete account of the woman behind Roe, her family and children as well as the religious leaders and politicians of the time. Another great pick from my #ALS list

Amiable I'm so glad you liked it! It is a complicated story and I thought Prager told it completely and well. (edited) 13mo
Deblovestoread @Amiable I am glad you had it on your list! I might not have picked it up otherwise and it was fascinating. 13mo

I have really upped my nonfiction game this year so am super stoked about my #AuldLangSpine list from @Amiable In January I will be reading at least one of these NF and one F book but intend, as always, to read as many off the list as I can throughout the year. I have already read and loved 10, 12, and 13 so I have a great bunch of books to explore. Well done, Amy! Thanks Alisha for a great match!

monalyisha You‘re welcome! I‘ll put in a word of support for Disappearing Earth. I absolutely loved that book! 1y
Megabooks I‘m with @monalyisha in putting in a good word for DE! 1y
TheKidUpstairs @monalyisha @megabooks I keep looking at that one in the library... Maybe 2023 will be the year I finally bring it home! 1y

monalyisha @TheKidUpstairs Yes! There‘s so much to talk about, too! I remember really bonding with a coworker (who‘s since left, sadly) about our theories! The writing is stellar. 1y
Amiable Oh, I‘m glad my list appeals to you! I cringe every time I submit my super nonfiction-heavy lists—I envision @monalyisha pulling her hair out trying to match me with someone. 😀 1y
Chelsea.Poole @amiable I felt the same…My list was half fiction and half nonfiction. Once I gave NF a chance, it‘s been life changing, honestly 🙌 @monalyisha @thekidupstairs @megabooks Also, with you all on (edited) 1y
Amiable @Chelsea.Poole I‘d love to see your nonfiction list, too! 1y

This book is excellent and I cannot get over how sad the life of Norma McCorvey (“Jane Roe“) was -- she was used by pro-choice feminists and she was used by Operation Rescue and I'm not sure she knew herself how she felt about abortion rights by the end.

Pickpick

Very well-researched account of Roe v Wade, the landmark court case that affirmed a woman‘s right to autonomy over her own body. It tells the story of abortion in America before and after it was legalized through the lives of several people associated with the case, including Norma McCorvey (aka “Jane Roe”) and the daughters she gave up for adoption. It‘s a challenging, complicated, emotional read.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa That sounds like an informative and great read. 2y
