Apparently The Raven works for multiple prompts this month. 😂 This version comes from The Graphic Canon Volume 2, which has really cool graphic adaptions of different classics, all done in various styles by different artists.

#SeptemberDanes Thanks to @vivastory post about a castle, I thought about our elegant Count who is forced to live out the rest of his life in a small #RoomWithAView at the Metropole Hotel in Moscow. One of my favorite reads last year, this book needs to be read slowly and thoughtfully. Confined to life inside a grand hotel the count discovers how majestic and marvelous the gift of friendship can be. Image from Google

Rules of Civility: A Novel

Rissreads I picked it up from the goodwill for $2 last month. @Andrew65 @Cinfhen @Mdargusch I am bumping it up my list because of your passion for the book. The list is always changing because I can't read fast enough! But I have 2 weeks off in a week so that should make a difference. My goal is 4 books and 1 audio. 6y

Cinfhen I hate to hype a book because sometimes it ruins one's experience/ expectations BUT this book was really brilliant in how it all tied together and a seemingly "boring" story is so full of wonder, joy & originality that I really can't recommend it enough @Kalalalatja @BarbaraBB @vivastory @Rissreads it DOES start slow and takes almost 100 pages before the "action" kicks in. But immerse yourself in the prose and enjoy the set up 6y

Kalalalatja Is this a good Kafka to start with? I haven‘t read any of his books, but I feel like I should 🤔 6y

vivastory @Kalalalatja I think his short stories are the best place to start. If you like them, then I would move on to either The Castle or The Trial. I think that The Trial is a better book, but all of the themes that are associated with the phrase Kafkaesque are equally present in The Castle. 6y

#SeptemberDanes #roomwithaview to a book with a view to a serial killer. As I read this very good book , I‘m asking myself what is this interest ( obsession) with murder & serial killers. ?! C&P ... and all the other ones .. I can‘t get enough of it. What is this about ?? !
I‘ll think about this again , meanwhile , back to the book ....
