I think this book was mentioned in another I read about running. It tells about the authors journey through alcoholism and running as a means of healing. The book tells about different races he ran while also telling personal stories from his past. Enjoyable read.

Part memoir about her running career, and part manifesto about the issues in women‘s sports- the bias, body image, etc. the best parts were her telling her story- athletes can identify with so much, but the salary portion didn‘t sit well- she wanted to be an influencer and get paid by Nike, which is more important than running fast, yes, but that‘s not how professional sport work. She‘s honest and tries to make the sports better than she lived it.

What an amazing story of an incredible series of journeys and an even more incredible woman. It‘s hard to imagine anyone undertaking such incredible adventures alone and self sufficient.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ When I see my retired aunt and uncle I ask what their book club is reading to get ideas, and this was one of those books. ☺️ I enjoyed this one—I find stories of people building something from nothing and hearing what went well and what was a struggle to be really interesting. Everyone wants to present themselves in the best light, but I felt like this had a decent amount of humility and didn‘t sugar coat the struggle.

Suet624 Phil knight had the same ghost writer for his book as Prince Harry and Andre Agassi. Sadly, I don‘t think Phil gave much credit to the writer. 2w

Track manga! I borrowed this for the boys (it was in the teen section) and ended up loving it too. A promising young soccer player gets into a car accident, loses a leg, is jaded. Track comes into his life. Love that it focuses on para-athletics and prosthetics.

I loved this book. It was so inspiring and I learned a lot from reading it. I loved learning about different runners and techniques. This was such an excellent book to read for anyone, but especially if you are a runner.
