From an adult reader's perspective, this is just another opportunity to feast the eyes on Eric Carle's art, and I will happily take any opportunity to do so.

Not sure about the clowns, especially the one that caused a car accident but the other clown got ticketed. The addition problems with candy were cute, though.

My go to candy 🙃
The mint M&Ms come in white, too! Today, I played with my food. [That's not as unusual an occurrence as you might expect from a grown-up. 🤣]

All year, we look forward to mint M&Ms. Last year we had none (we also had no family celebration 😢). This year, we'll have both M&Ms in our stockings *and* family celebration! Happy, happy!

Rooster‘s Off to See the World is a great MF math book to add to you classroom library. While Rooster is planning on travelling the world, he meets several friends who are added, then subtracted, from his group. A great math activity (https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/roosters-see-world-lesson-plan/) can be used to count and follow the timeline of the story, accounting for all of the animals joining the group.
Hershey‘s kisses by jerry pallato, is a SF LC book that is perfect for math circle fun! The book is all about addition and adding numbers in fun ways. This utilizes UDL principal: 2.3 decoding of text, mathematical notation, and symbols- teaching math by counting, symbols, while having fun and EL principal: 15 (reinforce key details)
