I just started the Amber Benson version of the audio (the other version narrator is Wil Wheaton, aka Wesley Crusher on Star Trek). I'm having a weird issue with all the "I saids" and "she saids." All books have them, but when you read in print, you can skip over them. On audio, you can't, and for some reason the way Benson says them drives me CRAZY. Like, to the point where I am considering bailing. ?#audiobookissues
xicanti I always notice Scalzi's dialogue tags so much more on audio. It's kept me from listening to him as much as I otherwise might. 7y
Well-ReadNeck I listened to the Wheaton version and enjoyed it. I don't remember specifically noticing the tags, certainly not enough for them to rub. Perhaps try that one? (edited) 7y
AlaMich @xicanti I'm glad I'm not the only one. 😬 7y
AlaMich @Well-ReadNeck I listened to part of the sample...it was better, but I think that now that I'm so focused on it, I'll still notice it. It's hard being me sometimes. 😔 7y
Constant_Reader I listened to the Wheaton version and I agree. The heard it too. It was driving me nuts. I also considered bailing because of it but in the end I liked the story. 7y
