Been awhile since I posted #bookdoodles

We had an all-day workshop, and, while paying studious attention of course, I was also writing down the titles of all of Iain M. Banks‘ Culture novels (I can never remember what order Surface Detail and Matter come in) and some quotes from Frankenstein and The Tempest.

Plus the requisite Coheed & Cambria keywork.

Made it through a week of 1st Quarter Benchmark testing. When you‘re administering a test to a small group you have to literally sit for hours at a time and do nothing, so...

I wrote down the names of every Middle-Earth denizen I could remember. Color-coded by book even! Plus bonus poetry from The Hobbit.

In college I had all the major Valar memorized (Wait, what did you do for fun in college?) but so many are fuzzy now.

Who‘d I miss?

I decided to spend yesterday's "Faculty Focus Session" writing down all the characters I could remember from the Chronicles of Narnia.

SO bummed I couldn't get all 7 of the Missing Telmarine Lords! I googled it later to find that Bern and Argoz eluded me.

Also, don't tell my brother I couldn't remember Bree's full name.

Anyone remember any characters I missed? #BookDoodles

Ruri_kaichou So I can't remember their names either, but the hermit Bree and the talking mare stays with... Sashta's brother.... Strawberry's owner who becomes King? You may have mentioned them but I just don't remember their names 😳😳😳 6y

Aleida No she‘s a great reader, but sometimes reads for speed and not for comprehension much. 7y

TobeyTheScavengerMonk @Aleida Since she's got the basics down she will only grow! All the phonics stuff is the hardest to teach. Building comprehension skills is all about discussing the text, making inferences, predictions, and connections to life and other readings and those are easy things for a bookish parent to encourage! 7y
