Thanks to @felinesandfiction for posting September #botmspoilers! My summer of slow reading due to life circumstances continues. However, the thought of a new book by Sarah Pinborough is enticing! Even though it‘s not usually my cup of tea, #fashionvictims has me surprisingly intrigued. I‘m also a sucker for characters from Oklahoma since I‘m always a little home sick, so November Girls may get the nod #decisions. What are you going to choose?

I see #botm spoilers are up. 3 historical fiction & 2 thrillers...1 of which (tagged) I think came out in May. 😑😑😑 I used up my 2nd acct's credits this month so I could cancel it. Now I just have 1 credit left on my primary acct & I can't even find a book to use a throw away credit on. I think this validated for me that they moved away from literary & nonfiction in favor of thrillers, romance & historical fiction. It was fun while it lasted. 😞

Hooked_on_books Thanks for posting. The tagged book came out in May in the UK, but doesn‘t come out in the US until September. They‘ve picked a book by this author before. Even though I liked the other book, I find that a tad lazy. 6y

Hooked_on_books @lele1432 I agree with repetitive. It seems lately as though many of the books each month reflect one another instead of a variety of books. I don‘t get it, since if one doesn‘t interest you, none will. I‘m seeing a lot of people cancelling and I‘m sure this is part of why. 6y

KT1432 @Hooked_on_books yes I think so! I'm going to wait on some writing samples to see if anything catches my eye. If not, hopefully cancelling this other account will just be temporary and allow me to get caught up on my huge botm backlog lol! 6y

KT1432 @allthingskayla I've got my eye on #fashionvictims! I read a blurb and wasn't hooked on the writing style but I'll decide after I read a longer sample. I'm hoping I like one because there are a few add-ons I still want! 6y

nosferatoos I‘m skipping for sure this month unless someone makes a really good case for one of these. BOTM has moved so far away from the kinds of books I‘m interested in 😞 6y

KT1432 @allthingskayla I just went to the book's page here on Litsy! Someone with an ARC posted a page they were reading. I am intrigued by the premise. 6y

KT1432 @nosferatoos agreed. I feel like I've moved to the outskirts of their target audience. Which sucks for me because I used to be able to depend on them for new reco's that were outside of the box for me but still somehow right up my alley. 😞 6y

nosferatoos @lele1432 that was exactly it for me. They used to have a great balance of books that were on my radar and books that I hadn‘t heard about but still found interesting. I‘m not a big thriller or romance reader and they‘re shifting too far in that direction for me. 6y
