I'm really surprised by how much I enjoyed this! (Patterson collaborators aren't generally my thing.) The author weaves together three enticing mysteries set in small town Australia, with the MC wrongfully accused of a horrific crime. It ends with the promise of more to come.

Today‘s nap time read and it‘s a good one. It‘s historical fiction about teens in Amsterdam and their work in the resistance movement. It is filled with suspense and mystery. The girl in the blue coat is missing and needs to be found, but really not much in this book is as it seems. #LMPBC #groupf

IheartYA I'm glad...it sounds like you kinda enjoyed it. Haha. I think her guilt was a character in itself. It was almost the point of the story. 6y
Mdargusch Oh yes! I did like it. And that‘s a very good point about her guilt @IheartYA 6y

Reviewsbylola How does it compare to American Fire? Is she a must read author now? 6y
Mdargusch I liked American Fire better, but this is a good WWII YA historical fiction for sure. @Reviewsbylola (edited) 6y
kspenmoll @Mdargusch Read the Girl in the Blue Coat with a student last summer & she loved it. Don‘t know if its rated for teens; she chose it. Very different from American fire- fiction. I agree with you re: her guilt driving the story. In middle of American Fire now. Really fascinated so far. Very detailed, learning about a region I never knew about, its people, its history. Mdargusch I loved American Fire @kspenmoll ! I loved reading about that area too and I just couldn‘t wait to find out what those two crazies were thinking. 6y
