11/22 This book was an easy read & made me smile at times. It wrapped up satisfactorily & there were some likable characters. But one thing bothered me- the MC‘s very obvious neurodiversity was used as a major plot point and yet no one seemed to recognize that. I have an autistic child so I‘m very aware but I also experience the general public has quite a good understanding now so it seemed weird everyone just saw her as odd. #booked2022 #newin22

Cinfhen I just read this too!! Agreed, it was a strange choice the author made presenting Molly as quirky but I found her so charming & delightful. I liked the idea of “invisible people in plain sight” 2y

I started reading this and just kept thinking that I REALLY don‘t like any of these people 😂😂 The plot though, and the twists, and even the various threads (confusing at first but converging eventually and making so much sense) kept me reading. Didn‘t even see the ending coming despite it maybe being a bit predictable for other readers. Anyway, I loved this one!

Not an easy book to review, and not an easy book to read either. That makes it sound like I didn‘t like it, but I did. I would say, however, that it wasn‘t quite a 5 ⭐️ read for me.

The book covers similar themes to ALL; love, loss, family, hope but in a very different way. I wasn‘t so keen on book 2 but liked the other two books - 3 the most once I got used to the fractured narrative.

Looking forward to discussing soon!

RaeLovesToRead I look forward to discussing it... in about 5 months time 🤣🤣 (A Little Life took me ages to finish) 😅 2y
rockpools Yay! Congratulations on finishing 🎉📚🎉. I‘ve stalled at the start of part 2 🤦🏻‍♀️ - I‘ll be finishing about the same time @RaeLovesToRead ! 2y
Cinfhen I think our feelings are perfectly aligned, Helen ! Looking forward to chatting with you & others ( @Megabooks @AmyG @BarbaraBB @TrishB @Simona ) and anyone else who‘d like to chime in, perhaps at the end of the month?!? 2y

Simona That would be great @Cinfhen 2y
TrishB Yeah - book 2 definitely the weakest one 2y
Simona Book 2 was my least favourite too … 2y
Ruthiella I liked her debut but skipped A Little Life because I knew it would be too traumatic for me. But I think I will definitely give this one a go. 2y
squirrelbrain I stalled a bit there too @rockpools - it wasn‘t my favourite part. 2y
squirrelbrain End of the month sounds good to me @Cinfhen 2y
squirrelbrain I need to try her first one @ruthiella… runs off to check if the library has it…. (edited) 2y
BarbaraBB I‘m won‘t be able to read (and finish!) it before the end of the month but go ahead of course. I‘ll jump in next month. And your review is great Helen, makes me so curious! 2y
squirrelbrain It‘s certainly a long one @BarbaraBB and takes a lot of concentration too. How are you doing? 😘 2y
BarbaraBB I am doing okay. Thank you so much for your email, I was really touched by it and will reply. Funeral is over so tomorrow it‘s back to work 😔 2y
squirrelbrain Good to hear you are OK @BarbaraBB - I wasn‘t expecting a response to my email, but it will be lovely to hear from you when you feel up to it. Hope work is OK tomorrow. 😘 2y
Megabooks I‘m about 150 pages from the end, so maybe I‘ll finish tomorrow. 🤔 But I‘m kinda sick of the dystopianess. 👎🏻 it‘s definitely one I want to discuss!! 2y
Chelsea.Poole I‘m currently reading this…but at a snail‘s pace. 🐌 2y
Reggie Yes, the father part of the 2nd book was the weakest for me until you realize he‘s not really walking around but his soul is trying to leave.(?right?-I told Meg this on one of her posts but I think there are so many interpretations and takeaways different from another one can have.) 2y
squirrelbrain I hadn‘t even considered that @Reggie - interesting perspective! 2y
