I was disappointed with this month‘s Aardvark selections and was going to skip. Tracy‘s review of the tagged book had me curious, but leery. Then I saw that Scott said it was one of his favorites this year and how am I supposed to resist that? I added a book that I didn‘t pick up in July (you know, when I was trying to be good and only pick one).

vivastory I was def tempted to get the signed copy! I hope you like it, it's def an over-the-top novel. I selected Janet Edwards' Canticle for my main pick & then added Jo Harkin's The Pretender as an add-on. I've been in the mood for historical fiction & I'm hopeful they scratch the itch. I have heard great things about Masquerade. 16h
DGRachel @vivastory When you, @TracyReadsBooks , @DebinHawaii , and @Reggie all recommend a book, I have to at least give it a try. I don‘t make the rules. 🤷🏻♀️ I waffled on Canticle. I look forward to seeing what you think of it. 16h

DebinHawaii Hah! I went back & forth whether to put it on my #AuldLangSpine list & ultimately decided not to because I didn‘t know how gentle a reader my match would be. 😂 That being said, I really enjoyed it & I‘m glad I‘m in such good company! 😎 (I probably would have gotten the signed copy had I been awake & looking at Aardvark earlier before it sold out. #peskytimezones 15h
TracyReadsBooks I‘ll be very interested to see what you think! Like I said, there is more than one “what the what did I just read?!?” moments but at no point did I want to put it down. It‘s dark and gloomy and very Victorian…really well-written too. 🫣 11h
