TheAromaofBooks I have found it so interesting that these random short “nothing really happened“ chapters have been scattered throughout! Such an intriguing writing method. 7mo

JUNE!!! I can‘t believe it‘ll be June next week! #bookspin and #doublespin list, though I‘m still playing catch-up for prior months. All in good time. At least I‘m in no short supply of titles to pick from! #silverlining

Bad News: woke up with a stomach flu on Thanksgiving
Good News: got to read since my husband, parents, and in-laws did the cooking while I rested #silverlining

BookNAround The getting to read part is good but the stomach bug, not so much. Hope you‘re better quickly. 2y

This book was just not for me. A few of the stories were okay, but overall, not my taste. Honestly, I should have bailed early on, but sometimes I can be stubborn about a book I really want to like!

On the plus side, it helped me knock out a prompt (#MustacheonCover) for #Booked2021! 😄

“Okay, boy. I believe you. Let‘s say we go have a look outside.”

Dude, NO! That‘s the last thing you should do. It‘s probably going to be the last thing you actually do!

#lmpbc @Reggie - If the dog dies, I will not forgive you. 🥺🥺

Reggie I‘m soooo sorry. But yeah, and the poor cows and the bull, too. BUT if it makes you feel better, after reading Tender is the Flesh last year I decided to stop eating meat and haven‘t eaten it or any animal products this whole month. #silverlining 3y
DGRachel @Reggie Thanks for the warning to avoid Tender is the Flesh! I hadn‘t reached details about the cows. I bailed at Bruno. 😭 3y

If I have to fly during a pandemic, and it‘s a full flight and I have a middle seat, and I just said goodbye last night to a dying grandparent...then YES I am taking that $40 upgrade to first class. #silverlining

LitStephanie Of course you should. ☹️ 4y
Cathythoughts Take care ❤️ 4y
AmyG $40....you‘d be a fool not to upgrade. Safe travels home. Wonderful book. 4y

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick In any circumstance, I think a $40 upgrade to first class is a no-brainer. I'm happy to hear you were able to say goodbye. Sending hugs 💞 4y

Just to be clear, while he is likely on his last days with hospice, he has not passed yet. Unless he makes it to winter break (incredibly unlikely), this was my last visit with him.⬇️⬇️ 4y
alisiakae I was so thankful to get there though while he was still coherent and lucid. We had a beautiful but much too short weekend together with my sister, cousin, and grandmother also at his bedside. 💗 4y
riversong153 My condolences on your loss. On top of everything else going on, that must be very tough. I hope you and your family are holding up as well as can be expected during this time 💜 4y

Making the most of it. Reading aloud to Clem on the hammock on a fine Sunday afternoon. We started this one together ages ago & now we‘ve found the time to finish it. 📖🥰

🎧 #audiowalk to the pool and I am torn between continuing to listen, and picking up my physical book. Gee, do I have some tough choices today. 😂

The bonus of the continuing 🥵 ☀️ September, extra pool days! #silverlining #IStillWantFallWeatherNow

LibrarianRyan Its so lucky the pool is still open. All the ones around here close after labor day weekend. Heck even most are drained. And it's 90F right now. 5y
alisiakae @LibrarianRyan This is the first year it is open this late! Our neighborhood is testing out a Swim at Your Own Risk set up, since all the lifeguards are back in school but it is stil SOOO hot. It‘s like I‘m at a resort, so peaceful! 5y
LibrarianRyan @4thhouseontheleft I'm a lot Jelly as I sit here in my over air conditioned office. 😁 5y
rustoryhuf Got in our pool yesterday and it was so warm. Usually my cut off date is late August, but with the hot weather here in GA, I‘m looking at a new record. 5y

This story was just too relentlessly sad. The characters are all filthy, depressed, and passive-aggressive. They are grieving the death of their father and abandonment by a former lover. My biggest issue with the book is the lack of finesse. The reader is constantly hit over the head with repeated scenes that show just how sad and disgusting everything is. Yes - I got it! 2⭐️ #indiebuddyreads

Cinfhen Too bad, cover is JUST INCREDIBLE 5y
Redwritinghood @Cinfhen It is! Under the dust jacket it‘s that vibrant pink with silver lettering and black endpapers. It‘s a pretty wrapper for a book about a lot of ugly things. 5y
Redheadrambles Glad you made it through and it is a shame it was not the best of our IndieBuddyreads endeavours this year :( 5y
