I have no idea what to expect. It was a total cover love purchase, which is actually rare for me. (Post 1 of 2)
This is a brilliantly insightful, well researched and thoughtful look at monuments, how they reflect the beliefs of the people who create them, the values of the communities for whom they are created, as well as the reactions of other countries and communities affected by the memorialized events. The author also offers pros and cons to removing monuments and suggestions on how to repurpose them to better reflect facts and modern sensibilities.
This was a fun #middlegrade trilogy. A very interesting world building and great characters. I highly recommend the audiobooks narrated by Jim Dale.
Working on House Baratheon while I wait on kids and listen to tagged book. It's a cute middle grade that kind if reminds me of Gaiman's Neverwhere. It's narrated by the amazing Jim Dale and is the first of a trilogy.

Doubling up on #oldcoolbooks with two books by a favorite author. The tagged book is a First Edition (#princeps) and my childhood paperback of Blue Mystery has #yellowedpages.
"He is a man. You know it to be so, because you know, as I do, that, slice the world how you will, it is men and men alone who make the worst monsters."
This audiobook was just a bit longer than my road trip so I finished it with a few commutes to and from work. It was very enjoyable YA urban fantasy. Charlie Fletcher is a master at character building and the narrator, Jim Dale, was amazing - I would listen to him read the dictionary!!
Heading out on an overnight trip, so I have this audiobook - it should be just long enough to last the whole round trip
