I‘ve been bombarded all over social media with Black Friday online deals and I now feel compelled to post here about the importance of shopping local. When you buy from a local, independently owned business your money goes back into your community. Because unlike Amazon, we pay taxes. You also support jobs and families and people who work for the community that they live in. #shoplocal #steppingoffthesoapboxnow

PNWBookseller85 Also the photo is a picture of a display table at the shop where I work. No algorithm, just books that my coworkers and I have loved and know that others will love as well. 4y
LiteraryinLawrence Could not agree with you more! 4y
Hazel2019 Do you guys have a website or just sell at the physical store? By the way, I totally agree! I try my best to buy from smaller, locally owned, although we don‘t really have one nearby 😕 4y

Emilymdxn You‘re so right! Physical bookshops and libraries are so wonderful and provide so much that amazon can‘t. When I had bad mental health in a job I found stressful a few years back I would leave work on lunch and go stand in the bookshop across the street just to feel calm and safe. Bookshops and libraries both are such special places 4y
PNWBookseller85 @Hazel2019 we do! Secretgardenbooks.com. You can also go to Indiebound to find your closest indie bookstore. Most of us have websites you can order from these days! 4y
PNWBookseller85 @Emilymdxn ❤️ I agree! 4y
night_shift I have only bought one book this year that wasn't at a local bookstore, but only because I couldn't find it anywhere as it's super old and didn't want to fork out double the price for a newer version they could order 😬 but I definitely agree! 4y
CaitlinR Absolutely. Patronize your local bookstore, and if you don‘t have one shop IndieBound.org. 4y
