This one wasn‘t my favorite, but it was still a beautiful story. I enjoyed the alternating POV between Sibeal and Felix. It was a nice change.

I was a little hesitant to continue the series with a different author, but I think Lagercrantz did a pretty good job.

This was eye opening. In all of my history classes, none of the teachers brought up the Japanese Internment. It‘s an ugly part of US history, but it‘s vitally important to learn about so we do not fall into such hate again.

This book wounded me, but in the best way possible. It was nice to learn about the part of WWII that always gets glossed over in US history classes.

Anneluthien This series has been on my TBR for so many years. I‘ve read some of Marillier‘s other books and enjoyed them, but this one became my favorite. I‘m glad I finally started the series! 😊 3mo

I‘ve loved Teen Titans since I was a kid, so I was really excited for this graphic novel. The story was interesting and enjoyable. But more importantly, Gabriel Picolo illustrated it! I love his interpretation of the Teen Titans and have been following his art for a few years now. He did such a wonderful job! Can‘t wait for Beast Boy next year!

This was such a good and informative read. I felt a little ashamed that I only knew about a handful of these women. I guess school curriculum does not find their accomplishments worth anything... Anyway, it was a good way to celebrate National Women‘s History Month!

I have been a fan of Florence‘s music for about a decade now and she continues to amaze me with her word-smithing. Listening to her music is like looking at a Renaissance painting (I know I‘m coming across as rather ridiculous in this review, but it‘s true) and having those lyrics written down in a collection adds so much more depth to them. Everything is so raw and so real with her and I love it.

This series has been so good. It is kind of rare to find a high fantasy novel with strong female characters at the time these books were written. It makes me sad that the third book hasn‘t been translated into English yet. This series is definitely worth the read.

I have been rereading my favorites to help get me back into reading. I love Zuzana. I can relate to her surliness 😆

Yeah_I_Read Have you ever listened to the audio of this? The narrator totally nails zuzana‘s voice and character. She is one of my “sidekicks” 1y
Anneluthien I haven‘t ever listened to it. I‘ve always been rather picky with narrators. I will have to check this one out, though. Thanks 😁 1y

I have always loved the story of Beren and Luthien. It is one of the best love stories to ever exist. I appreciated the way Christopher organized all his father's works about Beren and Luthien, put them together, and explained what was happening a little clearer than what his father had done. It was so nice to read this lovely story again. (Art by the amazing Kip Rasmussen)

The Last Magician | Lisa Maxwell

Pickpick

This is one of the better YA novels that I have read recently. Taking place in early 1900s New York with magic, time travel, and gangs, The Last Magician does not disappoint. It actually reminded me a little of Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows, which is one of my favorite duologies. I loved the concept, story, the variety of characters, and, most of all, the absence of a love triangle. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series!

Eliza and Her Monsters | Francesca Zappia

I devoured this book. It is was though Zappia wrote a love letter to all who belong to a fandom. Eliza is one of the most realistic YA characters I have ever come across (excluding the whole famous web comic creator, of course) and that sold the book for me. Eliza and Her Monsters is also kind of reminiscent of the book Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, but I enjoyed this one more. I need to go check out Children of Hypnos online now!

Gerard Way and Neil Gaiman are probably the only people that can get me to read DC and enjoy it. The set of characters and story itself were very interesting and different, almost reminiscent of The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, but vastly different at the same time. I love that Gee has been writing more and look forward to more installations in this story.

I did not enjoy this one as much as Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. While Molly was quite a relatable character and the author brought out a lot of the insecurities we all feel, Molly did start to get on my nerves after a while. It was kind of hard reading a book solely about a girl who desperately wants a boyfriend. To be honest, the best parts were when Simon popped up, because bless that boy and his Harry Potter obsession ⚡️

This book was so good!!! Ernest Cline knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat with his books. I enjoyed all the characters, the plot (that ending completely blew my mind...), and the Raid the Arcade playlist 😁 I definitely enjoyed this one just as much as Ready Player One. Ernest Cline needs to hurry and come out with another book...

This book was so lovely. Laini Taylor is one of those rare YA authors that can write beautiful and descriptive lines without overdoing it. Her characters felt so real and the story itself was imaginative. I may die from waiting for the next book to come out. 2018... that's so far off...
