The best way to relax and enjoy your day - a cup of coffee and a couple of good books. 👓📖📚☕️

Cronin was fantastic. I love the story line. It's not the genre I usually read but was a good refresh. 👀
And I hope that I will also enjoy the other one - Sins of the house of Borgia by Sarah Bower. Must say that cover is absolutely amazing. 😍

Orleans is a post-apocalyptic fiction set on the Gulf coast which had been quarantined after a series of devastating hurricanes that resulted in a even more disastrous disease-a powerful bloodborne viruse Delta Fever. The individuals who still live in Orleans are organized by blood type. Young Fen has one mission-to save her chieftan's baby who died in childbirth.
This was an intense, realistic story of survival in the bleakest of the worlds.

"Death is the fairest thing in the world. No one's ever gotten out of it. The earth takes everyone - the kind, the cruel, the sinners. Aside from that, there's no fairness on earth."

This is one of the most horrifying books I have ever read. It reads like a postapocalyptic story, except for all of it is horrifyingly real. ?

From the Prologue I was hooked and pulled so deep into the story.
Cara is a captive, after she's kidnapped by men trying to flush out her uncle. But then he came. He is only known as ‘Predator‘. No one knows who he works for, only that he leaves no one alive.
Michelle's description of characters was outstanding. I was able to feel as though I was right there watching the horrors unfold and feel the pain oozing from Cara.

Great book!😄

I really enjoyed this book, but I simply cannot get over how it is possible that women had so few, let's say NO rights, to thier own property once they were married. 😟

Stealing Athena was a satisfactory portrayal of two women who lived a millennium apart yet still suffered the same challenges.

Essex writes with confidence and an intimate tone that makes the period and the characters come alive.

"I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse."

Auggie is just an ordinary kid, with an extraordinary face. He was born with a facial deformity that prevented him from going to the school. The story is told from multiple viewpoints, and we are able to see August through the others too.
This story is a life lesson about kindness, compassion, and human connection and I think everyone should read it.?

This book is about two best friends Kate and Federico and their journey though the zombie madness to rescue their children. Apart from the obvious zombies, they have to deal with lack of food, lack of hydration, too many blisters due to the running, and worst of all, people! All of this was well developed and written, so I could feel the pain of the characters, both physically and emotionally.
I recommend this book to all zombie lovers. 😊

King of Ithaca is the first book in this series about the life and adventures of the Greek warrior and hero Odysseus.
The book tells the story of how Odysseus met Penelope and became the King of Ithaca, viewed through the eyes of Eperitus, an exiled prince who grows to be Odysseus's most faithful companion and valued warrior.

The book is excellently written. I really enjoyed this first novel and I can't wait to start the second book.
