It‘s my second to last day as an unemployed person before I finally start a new job (🙌🙌) so I‘m enjoying a little brunch out with my book - it‘s really good so far and these tacos are amazing. The delicious tea is magnolia oolong 💕
They just make it so tempting to lie here and read, even when it‘s nice out!
This book is kinda scratching my Judith Krantz itch… totally frothy fun with twists and rich people behaving badly and a tropical island setting.
I *should* be doing about 20 other things but it‘s pouring rain and the cats are very convincing that reading in bed is a good life choice, so I‘m just going to maybe finish this book before I get motivated. (This one is cute! I get a little annoyed with some of her over the top descriptions - I get it, dude is large, you have a crush - but it also made me go awwww and fondly remember being pregnant,… 22 years ago!!)

2- Not really. I think relationships are more about the work you put into them than a magical “right” person, and no one gets a perfect match.
3 - I‘m not a big Valentine‘s person so I guess just a nice dinner? Maybe get dressed up and get some compliments? 😂

Visiting family and obviously the Book Barm was on my must-do list. I loved the labels on these poetry shelves, and I *think* I can fit all my new books in my (probably very heavy) carry-on 😅

Read this whole book, working on A Single Thread for book club (which I doubt will happen because more ice is predicted overnight). The bed was made and a lot of laundry and dishes done. Baked cookies and frozen pizzas, have clearly NOT brushed my hair or put on zipper pants, lots of kitty time and some yoga. I‘m in my element and my husband has gone stir crazy. 🤪
We‘ve been hibernating this week - it‘s rainy and so windy I keep thinking the house is going to blow to Oz 😂
So I‘ve been getting some solid reading time with some really good books. So far this is hilarious and sad and SO WEIRD.
Lovely beach walk today, but we didn‘t outrun this “distant” storm 😅 …. It was awfully nice to come home to put on dry clothes and read a few chapters of this ARC (which is giving me Starless Sea vibes 🥰)
Stopped by the bookstore after dinner out today and picked this up on a whim - it‘s a little spooky already and so far a great fuzzy blanket/cat lap read 😸

3. Just hanging out with the (adult) kids, maybe we‘ll go to a bar and maybe we‘ll stay in
4. We do not! It‘s mostly a pajama day here
5. Green and brown, we have tons of lovely evergreens! And it doesn‘t snow here but it did get chilly.

Finished this on a road trip down the coast with my mom, sister, and husband. Today we saw seals, pelicans, and an eagle along with wild wind and waves. Now we‘re holed up at our Airbnb listening to the sea, noses buried in books. I‘m so glad the two of them flew across the country to visit. 🥰
Went to Powell‘s (one of the small locations) and a local bookstore this week and couldn‘t resist taking home a few new friends ♥️ 📚
Reading with Amelia… But also we unexpectedly are buying a gorgeous Craftsman house a block from our current rental!! The previous buyer backed out and we were the lucky runners up 😂
I love when #BOTM comes out early! This month I realized how spoiled I am by NetGalley when I already owned 2 of the selections… but I was still excited for too many books (I‘ve gotten 3 every month this year I think 😅)
Had to take my husband to the airport so I‘m making a day of it in Portland with a mani/pedi, a new (used) reading chair purchase, and a fresh hop IPA at Rose City Book Pub, which is just DELIGHTFUL 😍 📚
@Deblovestoread Thank you so much for the awesome #staycationswap package! I‘m so excited about the books (a boxed set!!), I already opened and tested the snack mix and lip balm (cherry, yum!), and the book case is perfect for some upcoming work travel. (Pls excuse my random laundry in the pic 😅)

I‘m reading the tagged book (it‘s a chunkster) because I finally broke down and shelled out the $30 at Powell‘s over the weekend since I was already spending money on books.

In my defense they were all so cheap! And the tagged finishes a series I started in January that‘s been nagging at me with a need to find out what happens next. Also I‘ve been terrible about reading my library books and also at returning them super late. So owning the books makes sense right?

Cozy constant lap cat and this book I bought in the airport and just gulped down - these were some emotionally mature, sexy 20-somethings and it was a blast to read.
My desk is a mess and I know I should be working on my to-do list but all I want to do is read about the Virgin Islands and pretend my toes are in the white sand 😩
Got a day off today to myself so I wandered around town shopping (new books! lotion! puzzle!) and snuck in some sitting and reading, too. Last stop before I head home is tea and coffee cake and a little more of this funny, charming book
I hit up the library and then got my (probably first of many) book blind dates for Feb… The cozy is tagged, can you guess the romance? I had NO idea and I‘m looking forward to it - the bookstore owner said she loved it.
Finally finished my first #AuldLangSpine pick from @HOTPock3tt - I don‘t know what it was about this one, I tried two times before this to read it and ended up putting it down… I did enjoy it this time, even if it‘s not my very favorite Tessa Bailey. However: up next is Truth and Beauty, which I love and I‘m so happy for the push to re-read!
I saw the B&N 25% off pre-orders sale on Ali Hazelwood‘s Instagram and couldn‘t resist buying future me some presents (look at that discount!! They‘re practically giving them away!!)
Chloe snuggled up with me to read this - she‘s not a lap cat so I stay veeery still when she sits with me so she‘ll hang out longer.
My 2023 goal is to get thru my #BOTM back titles, and this is a January book, but oh well… I still think it counts as progress. Plus I‘m really enjoying it so far.
Quick trip back east to visit family and I got to take a little Book Barn side trip ♥️
