Just finished Iron Flame today! 🛑 A few things didn‘t sit right with me. 😕 The whole miscommunication trope? Ugh, especially with strong characters – it just makes them feel weak. 💔 The love story didn‘t hit the mark for me, and I wasn‘t a fan of the ending or the twists. 🔄 It left me feeling… directionless. 🙄 I really hope Violet finds her strength again and stops whining about Zaden not telling her everything. Like, come on! 😅
Unbound is a gripping, well-told story with rich characters and twists that keep you turning pages 📖. The writing pulls you in, and the tension builds beautifully. That said, I‘m not a fan of multiple points of view, especially when one is close to the villain 🕵️♂️. I‘d rather stay in the dark and let the suspense unfold than know what the bad guy is thinking. Still, it‘s a fantastic read for anyone who loves mystery and surprises! 🎭
Ascendant, the first book in Songs of Chaos by Michael R. Miller, is a fresh spin on dragon-rider fantasy 🐉, perfect for Eragon fans seeking a darker twist. Holt, unlike the classic hero, is flawed and grounded, with a gritty bond to his dragon, Ash, that‘s unpredictable and raw. Miller‘s world 🌌 is morally complex, with dragons that follow their own agendas, making this an intense, layered story that stands apart. ⚔️
I had an absolute blast diving back into the magical world of Alagaësia with "Murtagh"! His perspective brings a whole new layer of depth and intrigue to the tale, making the adventure feel both familiar and thrillingly. The twists and turns in his journey kept me hooked from start to finish. Highly recommended for a fun, adventurous read that rekindles the enchantment of the original saga!
"Inheritance" by Christopher Paolini is a rollercoaster ride of dragons, magic, and epic battles! It's like a grand feast for fantasy lovers, with every page bursting with adventure. Eragon and Saphira's final journey is packed with enough twists to make a pretzel jealous. I loved diving in for a fantastical adventure that‘s as exciting as flying on a dragon! ?✨
🔥Brisingr, the third installment of the Inheritance Cycle, is an epic adventure! 📚😄 I was thrilled by the political twists that added spice to the story. These books are like finding your long-lost BFF! 🧡 Eragon, Saphira, and the gang are still rock stars in my book. 🌟 If you're a fantasy fan, this series is a MUST! 🐉📖 #FantasyFave
I loved listening to Fablehaven! This book is a thrilling adventure through a magical world, full of mystical creatures and hidden secrets. The story is captivating, and the characters, especially siblings Seth and Kendra, are a delight. But a word of caution: the audiobook narrator could put a caffeinated squirrel to sleep! Best to stick with the written word for the full, magical experience. 📚✨
Diving into 'A Discovery of Witches' was like embarking on a magical mystery tour - a whirlwind of fantasy, romance, and scholarly secrets! But whoa, the storytelling was a bumpy ride, hopping from a vampire's bird's-eye view to inside a witch's mind. Plus, it was like getting lost in a maze of too many details & thoughts on repeat. Wished for a snappier, more spellbinding journey through this enchanting world! Loved the narrator of the audiobook!
I absolutely loved "Eldest" and the Inheritance Cycle holds a special place as one of my top five favorite book series of all time. Returning to this series after such a long time is always a delight for me. I cannot wait for the new book, & let me tell you, my excitement is bubbling hotter than a dragon's breath! Until then, I'll be practicing my ancient language skills & brushing up on my swordplay. Bring it on, Paolini!??️
Whispers Under Ground had me hooked from page one! A roller-coaster ride of mystery and magic. Truly a gem in urban fantasy. Loved every twist and turn! 📚✨
"Moon Over Soho" is pure magic meets London's quirky crime scene. Ben Aaronovitch's clever writing, led by the witty Peter Grant, takes you on a wild, supernatural jazz-infused ride through the city. If you're into supernatural mysteries with a quirky twist, dive right in! ??♂️???♀️
Enjoying those beautiful sunny days in Miami, lounging in the hammock in the backyard with my puppies, and diving into a good book. I can't wait for the new Eragon book in November, and I'm rereading the Inheritance Cycle in the meantime! 📚😊 ☀️📚🐶 #MiamiDays #Bookdragon #ExcitedForNovember #inheritancecycle
Enjoying my day off, I'm nestled by a crackling fire, embarking on a thrilling adventure with the Dragon Riders! I am racing against time to complete the Eragon series before the eagerly anticipated release of Murtagh in November. Happy Autumn to all! 📚🔥🍂
I am struggling so hard to get through this. I really do not enjoy Maas‘s main characters. I just finally gave up and switched to Audible to finish this one. But I did enjoy my cruise through the Caribbean! I didn't get to read as much as I thought 🤔 all well 🤷🏻♀️. 🚢🗺️🏝️🌞🌎
"And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure," the ancient wizard says in chapter 3 of The Half-Blood Prince.
I thought I would share how cute my Harry Potter Sticker theme came out! I love this color on my Kindle!
Unpopular opinion: for me, this book started to get interesting at 67%. Everything before was a bit of a slog to get through. Mass‘s main characters are always unpleasant, in my opinion. I have heard the books get better, so I will continue with the story. I liked it, not loved it.
I cannot recommend this book enough. It was everything I wanted in a book!!!! I could not put this down. The world-building, the action, the characters, the romance, and the dragons. ALL OF THE THINGS! I tell my friends that if they decide to make this into a movie or tv show, be prepared to be disappointed by it because it‘s never going to be this good!!! Just read it!!!
This book was smutty and yet action packed. I actually loved this enemies to lovers story and the world building was superb. Would recommend!
I found this book on a list of thriller/horror books recommendation list. Boy, were they right! I figured out everything pretty early on, but the writing was so good I just couldn‘t put it down. I loved how eerie everything was; it kept a good pace and was very creepy until the end. Also, I do not recommend the movie it was absolutely horrible and had nothing to do with the book.
So this one to me was sooooo slow. The ending worked out great and I actually liked the last couple of chapters but the rest was a wash.
I really liked this middle one it had so much intrigue and excitement. I can't wait to finish the last one even though I know it's going to break my heart. Again the sarcasm could be turned down to 10% to make this a five stars for me but otherwise great story telling! 😀
I really enjoyed this world and the way the author builds it. The only complaint that I have is that everything the characters say is in sarcasm and it really makes then sound like immature children. Other than that I really enjoyed the story and plan to finish the trilogy.
I mean..... that ending???? 🤔🤪🤨😶
So good! These books really had a lot of twists and were really interesting. I loved all the robots and such! Would recommend! Hope there is another in the future! 🤩
What a great book! I love the science and the flow of this book. Not only did it feel relevant to what‘s happening in the world today, I related to the character on personal matters. I really enjoyed the mystery that they were investigating, full of twists and turns. Love Wil Wheatons narration! Would highly recommend!
Wow. I listened to this on audible, and I'm so glad I did; the voice actors were superb. The story left me crying and laughing and so many other emotions... Read this one If you like: romance, tough main characters, a dash of mystery, and a complex life story.
On a different note I loved that Evelyn was Cuban, when they got to the statement: “oh you don‘t look Cuban”
I said to myself yep I get that all the time. Nice to connect on that level.
Omg! So good🥰! I loved this one so much better that Achilles, IMO. I loved the narrator for this book and I loved how real and tangible Circe felt. Fan of the Greek gods? Looking for a new story to read or listen too? Go read this!
This book wasn‘t nearly as satisfying as the first two but it did have its moments. I don‘t tend to like stories where everyone keeps secrets from one other to protect each other, all the while hurting each other‘s feelings instead of telling the truth. It just muddies the waters for me, and so I begin to lose interest. With that being said; I loved visiting the glass city! I also loved this book as an ending! Why did she move on from this book?
I really liked this as a second book. It didn‘t feel it lagged of excitement nor intrigue. I really liked how difficult the process Clary had with dealing with her feelings about the news from the first book. It made her feel more genuine in my eyes. Confusion and missteps all through this one. Next up book 3. 🙌🏻🧛🏻♀️🧚🏻♀️🧜🏻♀️
So I read this book when it first came out when I was 19. I really liked it then. I picked it up when I was in my mid-twenties and couldn‘t finish it. I decided to give it another try this month (I have been in a reading rut not being able to finish anything I started) and let me tell you I devoured this bad boy. I have never read the rest of the series & can‘t wait. Thanks Cassandra for getting me back into the groove. Just what I needed. 🧛🏻♀️
Unpopular opinion here.... This story was a pretty slow read for me. I felt like it could have been incredible, but I felt like it was so repetitive. The minute she met the boy, I felt like the story just became flat and dull. Not a favorite.
I actually listened to this on audio, and I fell right into the story. I followed this scientist deeper into Area X, not knowing what to expect. This book is a mystery within a mystery. I enjoyed the descriptions and the back and forth between the past and present. I would recommend this book to any sci-fi lovers out there. I also watched the movie, which deviated so much from the original that I didn‘t enjoy it as much. Further thoughts:👇🏻
I loved this audiobook with the full cast. I wish they could do this to all of them. The story was good. It was a dark story and sometimes it drifted to far with the descriptions. I liked it though and this is one for anyone who loves podcasts. Would recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Did I just stay up all night reading this? You betcha! Do I regret it? Not a second! This book was as sweet as the peach tree in this book! 😉 This one right here starts out really cool, I could feel the 90s, smell my moms perfume, feel the pink 80s carpet under my feet, & see the FUN colors of the 90s. But let me warn you this gets very dark. As black & as graphic as the soul of the vampire. Recommend, 5 stars!!! #Murderinos will love this one!
I decided that I loved the movie so much that I had to try the audiobook and boy was I not disappointed! I loved it! And I have to say that Susan Duerden is usually a narrator I avoid (if you have ever tried listening to the rook you would understand). She did a great job reading this one! Loved the story and how intimate it felt being in letter format throughout. 5 stars!
Deal alert! I really liked this high fantasy, and I enjoyed how in-depth the world-building was and how cool the magic system was! So even though this is a chunkster, I wanted to let you all know it‘s on sale today on audible if anyone is interested! 🤩
So... this is between a pick & a so-so for me... It was a slog to get through & nothing really happens, but it is an essential story in the Witcher universe. This book is purely world building & character development. Barely any action or monsters. I will be continuing with the series, I love the show which followed book 0.5 The Last Wish which was phenomenal & I would recommend starting this series by reading that one. #saveacoinforyourwitcher
These are fun little mystery novels. I like the main character and her quirky little witchy powers! 😸👌🏻🧙🏻♀️🔮🧹
I liked the first book of the Virgin River series more but this was still a fantastic book. I had some laugh out loud moments with this one and also some very fear filled moments. I‘m really enjoying the gang of characters in the Virgin River area. Really easy going reads! 😍❤️🌳
I really did enjoy this book. Although I got distracted by another, I did end up coming back to this one and really liked how the story came together.
This was a fantastic smooth read. I loved this novel, it was simple and a enjoyable book. The story was exactly what I thought it would be, a get away from normal life. Would recommend! P.S. The show on Netflix has similarities but it definitely has different events. So is the book better? Yes. Did I enjoy the show? Yes. Hope this helps lol! 😆
I love the Sookie Stackhouse books, I first read them when I was 18 & then again when I was in my mid-twenties. When audible had these on sale for this cyber Monday I jumped at the chance, I got them all & am starting to re-listen to one of my favorite series. It‘s been great to visit the vampire loving southern Sookie again. Just finished book one, I loved the narrator & it was just as good as I remember it! Off to book two! 🧛🏻♀️🧛🏻♂️🧛🏻
This was a difficult book to get through. Not because it was bad but because of the topic involved. There is a saying that history is written by the victors. This book is written from the view of the losers women, which is such an under utilized view of the greatest wars in history. I highly recommend this novel, I listened to it on audiobook and the narrator was fantastic. 🙂👌🏻👏🏻
This was a pick! I loved the lore and the world-building, and I really liked the main character, even though sometimes I would have loved to slap her... okay so the one thing I didn‘t like was the disjointed timeline... it was a linear timeline, but It felt as if everything happened within a month of time, when really it was years... 🤷🏻♀️🤔
So I really liked this big yet short story. I figured out what was going on from the beginning, but as the story progressed, I kept second-guessing myself. I listened to this one on audio as well, and it was very engrosing. Would highly recommend! 🤔👌🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
This was such an entertaining audiobook! I loved the POV from the stalker. Would highly recommend, especially on audio! #InNantucket 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is not my usual genre, but the buzz got me curious. I absolutely loved this as an audiobook! From the cast to the writing, this was special. I am not a big music lover, but I was drawn into this bands drama like a bee to honey. So addictive and sweet! 🎶😍🤯
I sat down thinking I wasn‘t going to be able to finish (seeing as this is outside my usual genre), but man was I wrong! This felt like I was watching a clear movie 🎥 in my head. Well done!
I‘ve been so busy lately that I haven‘t been able to read many books. I finished my bachelors, got accepted into my masters, got a house (we are renovating), and got a new puppy because Aussies rock! Her name is Rosie Cotton (the brown girl) 🥰😉😌 cont👇🏻
