The author referenced Litsy in this book! How cool?!! I don‘t know if she has a Litsy handle so I can‘t tag her.

Oryx Only 30 on the TBR though? Amateur 😁. That's really cool though to see it in print. 11mo

I love NK Jemisin‘s writing. I listened to this on audio and read some of it in print to make sure I was following along correctly in some areas where I got a little confused. I really enjoyed this. Not as heartbreaking as The Broken Earth Trilogy but still very good!

NikkiM5 I loved it too, ready for book 2 3y

Win | Harlan Coben
Pickpick

Okay so I am a huge Harlan Coben fan, HUGE. But this didn‘t grab me as much as his Myron Bolitar novels or his other standalones. Maybe it‘s because I hate rich people problems. Idk. Win is definitely better as a character in small doses. So many of his comments had 🙄 Over all it was a decent read but I don‘t know if I‘d read the whole series. Glad I didn‘t buy this one and checked it out of the library. It‘s between a pick and so so for me.

Just okay. I get a little frustrated with self-destructive characters but it wasn‘t just that which kept me from fully enjoying this book. I guess it didn‘t quite feel like a mystery or a thriller to me. It also seemed to progress slowly and then speed up at the very end so the pacing could have been better. Not a bad read but I‘m glad I didn‘t spend money on it and waited for the library hold.I won‘t be watching the show. Just not for me 😐

AlaMich I‘m watching the show right now. It got off to an interesting start, but it‘s kind of a mess now. Subplots that have zero to do with anything, and the main plot is pretty confusing. 3y

Patchshank I've seen other people have that problem and I think it has to do with the edits like if you added a lot of stickers and did other stuff to it. Some combination of edits is what seems to be causing it. I can't remember what combination. 3y

Conjure Women: A Novel | Afia Atakora
Pickpick

Great book. To say I enjoyed reading it would be misspeaking but, it was a great fictional account of two women and their lives on the plantation pre and post civil war. A really tough read and many CWs but well researched and well written. I would have liked to read this a little slower but it was a 14 day ebook loan from the library. I will be absorbing and processing this one for a while.

Chelleo I just started today and whew, boy...much heavier than I'm in the mood for right now but I'll chug through it. 3y

I‘ve never seen any of the James Bond movies so I didn‘t have much background to go on. This was an okay book. The plot was pretty good, I just couldn‘t stand the sexism in the book or the sexual relationship trope. I would‘ve been more interested in the story from 16‘s POV, she was the lead female character. Listening on audio helped.

I really enjoyed this book. I know the reviews have been pretty mixed on this one. I‘m not exactly sure how I feel about the ethics of let‘s make believe someone‘s major life decision didn‘t happen gets written from someone else‘s point of view while they are still alive but I still liked this book. The narrator sounded like Hillary - she matched her voice and cadence so it was believable. Ymmv but it was a pick in my book!

This book was inspiring. It is about the Thunberg Family and Greta‘s passion for solving the climate crisis. It was really disheartening to hear about her struggles and her sisters struggles as well and the lack of support they received from the system. This book just wet my appetite to learn more about the climate crisis and what I can do to help. She didn‘t go in to a ton of detail on the climate crisis but you can tell that it is dire.
