I loved that this book is geared towards younger readers, and also that it uses relatable situations like school and friendship. I didn't like how everyone seemed so unrealistic with their acceptance of Melissa. This book was progressive, but showed a "perfect world" kind of response.

As a writer Sean Carswell has a compelling voice. He is an Everyman yet also isolated. I love the different character personalities,and the realistic descriptions of human relationships.

This book provides an almost spiritual connection for me. #alsoattemptingnormal

LOVE this book! It's dark and urban and angsty. It's a nice read for anyone channeling their inner misfit teenager with some magic thrown in. Holly black is a captivating writer with a knack for capturing the readers interest. I also suggest her other books in the dark faerie tales series.
