I loved this novel and the house that is a character. The relationship between brother Danny and sister Maeve is dear and mysterious. This story is both fairy tale and family epic, and Patchett weaves together all the hurts at the end so there is redemption if not a neat ending. I‘m surprised more reviewers haven‘t talked about the strong religious elements in the novel, which I need to spend more time thinking about.
