I didn't plan on enjoying this book, but oh my gosh it is so much fun! Its like watching an episode of Firefly and I'm loving it.

If you like the Dresden Files, can I take a second and recommend this series. It is so entertaining and funny, think British Dresden. This is the newest entry in the series and I have to ration it because its like a bar of delicious chocolate and I don't want to eat the whole thing in one sitting.

Ericalambbrown This series is awesome! I‘m about 2/3 through this book now. They are SO GOOD! 5y

A very interesting and entertaining (and reasonably quick) read about the life of a medical examiner in NYC. If you like Kathy Reichs or Patricia Cornwell this is a great background on their profession (I know they're forensic anthropologists, but it is close).

For the first time *EVER* I actually got to read my book on the beach (on vacation, no beaches near my home)! Yay Beach Read!

What to read, what to read...I can't decide which to pick next. Suggestions?

I binged this book in just over a day and, despite figuring out the twist early on, thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were nicely multi-dimensional (except the boyfriend, who was too simplistic to be taken seriously as a romantic interest) and the dialogue and scenery were very enjoyable.

Amymeyerson Thanks for sharing:) so glad you liked it!!! 6y

Mehso-so

It took me less than a day to read this, while sick and entertaining a 10 year old boy whose summer camp ended yesterday. So while it was a fun read, I wanted a little more depth and story. It was like reading an Xfiles episode. Enjoyable but over too quickly.

Crazy Rich Asians | Kevin Kwan

At the beginning of the year I looked at my Goodreads account and realized that, while I read a lot, I read the same genres all the time. I am a boring reader. This year I'm really trying to widen my horizons. And that includes not being such a lame snob about "popular" books. So I've stacked my TBR with books that (oh my god) other people like!! Including this one, which I hope will be a nice, yummy, treat.

Gone Girl | Gillian Flynn

I just finished Gone Girl, which I started immediately after reading Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. And now I need to watch like 5 Disney movies in a row to feel good about the world again.

I said I didn't want to read this book...and then I changed my mind. I gave up about 5 chapters into the audiobook because I hated all the characters, but I'll give it another shot. Also, Moose the Pooch is keeping me company in the sweltering hot backyard.

KTOHARA Moose is a cutie! 5y

I wasn't sure about this book at first. Being a *huge* Pride and Prejudice fan I didn't know how the author would keep my interest, since I know what's going to happen. About a third of the way through things took a turn for the better and it became a thoroughly enjoyable, modern, and funny take on the classic. I'm so buying this for my BFF, who is obsessed with Darcy as I am

A generous birthday gift card from my co-workers has lead to this...and some serious indecision. I just finished Sharp Objects by Gilliam Flynn. Do I stay creepy with The Gone World or Dark Matter? Or go a little lighter with Eligible or Practical Magic?

Sharp Objects: A Novel | Gillian Flynn

Well, I finally jumped on the Gillian Flynn bandwagon, thanks to a birthday gift card. And I didn't hate it. I don't actually know if I *liked* it though. I certainly didn't like any of the main characters, even the narrator. I'm not sure if I'll pick up any of her others.

The Book of Life | Deborah Harkness

I'm half way done with the last book in this series. I'd avoided these books for several years, thinking (I don't know why) that they were YA Vampire Academy kind of stuff. But I'm thoroughly enjoying them. I hope this ends well.

My SO is out of town and the child is asleep. So I've got a new book, a bottle of my favorite cider (which I brought back from Washington last year because you can't buy it here) and a new episode of CB Strike to watch. Oh, and some blessed peace and quiet!!

Took my son to the waterpark today (its 98 degrees here) and got a few minutes of reading in while trying to get some tan on my legs. Also, you can tell I was a young adult in the 90s by the tribal tat on my ankle.

I was reading The Water Knife and enjoying it, but after too much overtime at work and too little sleep...I need something a little lighter. Going back to one of my favorite series for a little brain-break.

I'm on chapter 11, less than halfway through, and I think I've figured the whole thing out. I'm going to be really disappointed if that's the case.

Winterkill | C. J. Box

This series was recommended by fans of Craig Johnson's Longmire series (which I love). I just started Winter kill, which is book 3. Book 1 was really uneven. 2 was better, 8 have high hopes for this one.
