After Katniss was chosen to participate in the Hunger Games, she and her team from District 12 are moved to the beautiful capital. There Katniss is put on display for all of Panem, as she prepare to fight for her life. Before the tributes are sent to fight they must train together. This not only forces Katniss to use her body and skills but, also her mind in order to be strategic about who she trusts, what she hides and how she will survive.

mataya.slusar If you like action or thrillers this book is for you. This book is in the first person point of view from the main characters point of view. We know this because the author uses the pronouns “I“ and “We“ 2y

In this dystopian world, Panem is separated into twelve districts and every year to show their compliance and gratefulness to the capital, the districts participate in the Hunger Games. A deadly game where one boy and one girl are chosen to fight to the death for their district. In this book, sixteen year old Katniss Everdeen is forced to participate in the Hunger Games where she must make a choice, to kill or be killed.

mataya.slusar If you like books set in a dystopian world with lots of action this book is for you. I would recommend thirteen and older because there is killing and some graphic scenes. The themes in this book are family and hope. We see this when Katniss volunteers for the Hunger Games to stop her sister from being sent to the games. We also see family when Katniss first begins to describe her life in district twelve. We learn that she is and has (edited) 2y
mataya.slusar been the main provider for her family since her dad has died. This story is also about hope and resilience because Katniss never gives and she stays true to herself and her morals even when she is fighting for her life in the arena. 2y
