Mansfield Park | Jane Austen

Anyone have an author or book that surprised them?? I really expected not to like Jane Austen but thought I should try her out anyway because .. well ... it‘s Jane Austen. I ADORED Mansfield Park and cannot wait to read more Austen.

Next up on my reading list. I had no idea J D Salinger wrote so many short stories!! I‘ve got lots to read.

Did anyone else buy the special editions when they came out for the 20th anniversary? I bought all four and love having the set on my bookshelf. I'd like to reread the series someday.

RaimeyGallant Check out the new LitsyTips hashtag we started today. Lots of gems. :) It's the first post on my page, and then if you click the hashtag itself, you can see everyone else's tips. :) 7y
Sace 😍 those are gorgeous! 7y
sprainedbrain I got the Hufflepuff edition. They are so pretty all together! ❤️ 7y
o.m.g.books @sprainedbrain Thanks! And I think the Hufflepuff might be my favourite one 😊 7y

Life of Pi | Yann Martel

This one has long been on my TBR. I saw the movie and absolutely adored it. However, I always felt the message would be better conveyed through a book than the movie. Has anyone read this? I seem to hear mixed reviews. #tbr #toread #lifeofpi

RaimeyGallant Dang it. I need to add this to my #TBR too. 7y
damyantig I liked the book. The movie, not so much. 7y

Mansfield Park | Jane Austen

This book left me with a serious book hangover. It was my first Jane Austen and the writing was sooo beautiful. I cannot get into anything else since reading it! Not even Stephen King who is usually a favourite for me. Anyone else ever experience book hangovers?? #janeausten #bookhangover

RaimeyGallant Welcome to Litsy, by the way! #LitsyWelcomeWagon 7y
DivaDiane I also get book hangovers. It's a drag really - I read to slowly to wait a few days to start something new! But with especially good books, i often need a bit of down time to digest and transition. Welcome to Litsy!! (edited) 7y

Schlinkles You should read Persuasion, I think it's Jane Austen's best novel. 7y
o.m.g.books @Schlinkles you are probably the sixth person to recommend Persuasion to me recently! I definitely need to check it out. I plan to pick it up and read it asap. 7y
tpixie Welcome to Litsy!! 🎉💕📚🎈 book hangover- good term!! 7y
robinb ❤️Austen! Welcome to Litsy! 7y
readinginthedark Yes, I had a bad one recently. But if you're having one over your first Austen, the good news is you have five more novels and some short works before you have to quit! 😉 7y
