This is a very good, informative book about a couple that attempt to escape slavery. This is a true story and the couple is connected to Frederick Douglass, among others. It's very eye opening what they had to endure and the lengths they went to find freedom. I read this for a book club.

I read this for book club. I didn't understand it. There was a mystery that I completely forgot about and by the time it got back to that I didn't care. There were parts I enjoyed at the time but I couldn't tell you what they were because they didn't stick with me. Very disappointing.

This book has some flaws but overall it is decent. I didn't like that we are told right away that Avery and Colin get rescued from the plane crash. It took away from the suspense and urgency when the author was talking about them being stranded. Some of the flashbacks got confusing too.

I really enjoyed this book and the mystery of all that was happening kept me guessing. I was a little disappointed with the ending but only because I was hoping for a bigger aha! moment or a twist to shock me. But it is an all around good book.

Weird book. Lots of short story type chapters that all connect. I almost gave up on this book! Main take away is would I add my thoughts and memories into a database for others to view? No, absolutely not.

I did like the book but I did NOT like Kristen at all. Josh wanted a real relationship with her and she treated him horribly for quite a while. She did it to protect him and his future but if they had just communicated it would have been better. Still a good book worth reading

What a messed up book. It is decently written but I didn't care for the plot or MC much. She wanted sympathy for what she was accused of but she didn't deserve it. I was more upset about her cat being left alone! And the ending....

You don't need to understand tennis to enjoy this book. Carrie is sometimes a b*tch but the sport and her dad kind of made her that way. I wasn't sure if I would like this book but I actually did. The audiobook is superb.

This book definitely kept my interest with the mystery of where Owen went and why he left. As Hannah learns more, things get a little serious. I was a little put off by how calm and collected Hannah was when dealing with the FBI and US Marshals. She always knew exactly what to say and how to handle each situation. I thought I knew what was happening but I was wrong.

Well, this books makes you want to love on your SO and not ever let them go. This is a book about grief. Most of the characters were not very likable, but in a way that is what grief does. This is a good book and you really feel the emotions everyone was going through.

This is the 2nd book in the King Midas series. I could tell that it was a 2nd book, a connector between 1 & 3. A lot happens, but there are parts that nothing seems to happen and is quite boring. But even with the boring parts this is an excellent book and really sets the stage for book 3, and I can not wait.

I listened to this book and the author narrated it. The narration wasn't that good and made the book kind of boring. The MC has a birthday party where 3 people from her past, her best friend, and Audrey Hepburn attend. A lot of it is the MC trying to repair relationships, and maybe even change some events that would affect her future. It was an ok book, nothing too exciting or noteworthy.

I love CoHo but this book was all kinds of nope. First, I don't want to read about HS kids having sex and saying the things they were. Second, it was just a bad story. Short story or not, it moved too fast and was not believable. The way the parents talked to their son was gross and over the top. I didn't like this book.

This one was just ok for me. I liked the perspective of the young girl, and she plays a key role in knowing what happened to her father. I kept thinking about this while reading the book and honestly I don't think it can be answered without going thru it. This book made me sad, made me think, and made me wonder what Emma would do. Great book.

Another good book by Sara Ackerman about women that were trained to help WWII pilots after the attack on Pearl Harbor. It is inspired by true events. The women in the story dealt with men that didn't think they could do the job and shouldn't be there and I'm sure that is how it really was. I was invested in these characters and it felt like I was there watching all of the events happen.

I read this book for book club - topic color. The cover of this book led me to believe it was a heartwarming novel. It was full of sex, chauvinistic views, sexism and some pretty poor writing. This is the first I've read something by this author so I don't know if it is her typical style but I won't seek her out in the future.

The book follows Lauren as she goes thru all the emotions of the separation, but we also hear from Ryan. I really didn't know what either of them would do. I laughed & cried. Great book!

I listened to the book and it was great but I want to buy it & highlight all the amazing info. Every woman should read this to know how badass women of history are and every man should read it to be reminded how badass we are.

This is the first book I've read by Brenda Novak. I enjoyed it. Cora was adopted, and thru a PI, finds her Mom. Her Mom owns a school for troubled kids, so Cora gets a job there so she can secretly get to know her Mom. The relationship between Eli & Cora goes a little too fast but it is a Harlequin. I was surprised to finally learn why the Mom gave up Cora. The book ended quick but a great set up for book 2.

This book is interesting. You learn things as Klara learns them so there is NO world building. This would typically make me DNF but for some reason it worked here. I still had, and have, questions. This book is very very different than any other book CH has written. She admits that and said it was written as a fun side project. It is free on Kindle Unlimited. It was an ok book. I didn't like how it ended and then went to an epilogue, prologue, and more. She had a reason for that too, but I still didn't like it. Sloan comes off as ignorant and whiny for a good portion of the book imo.

This was read for my book club. This was a hard read for diff reasons. The translation at times was weird. At times it was boring and after losing my Dad almost a yr ago it made me think, "would I do this?" I didn't like all of the rules that went along with the coffee shop & sitting in that chair, such as history/future doesn't change. The characters had experiences that changed their heart, & isn't that changing history?
