This was not much of a horror for me. After watching the trailer it looks like the movie is much scarier than the book.

Fine audiobook narration by Bernadette Dunne though.

For me this book was much like Kristin Hannah's The Great Alone – it made me see a place I've never been to and fall in love with it. This was a harrowing tale of loneliness, abandonment, loss of trust and a person's unbreakable connection with nature.🍃♥️

Dexter, Miami Police Department's blood spatter analyst is a serial killer in his free time. A series of homicides where the victims have been drained of every drop of blood sparks up his interest.
The first ¾ of the book was almost exactly like the TV show, but the ending was quite different. I'm intrigued!

This book tells stories about a son trying to cure his father's cancer with jokes, about teens frying their brains with automated external defibrillators, about mysterious murders at the Playa Rock Arts Festival... The stories are often weird, sometimes dirty but nevertheless smart, witty and really you can't unread them.

I've never studied advanced literature or creative writing or anything of the sort and sometimes I think maybe this book isn't written badly, maybe I'm just not sure of the definition of good writing... Sometimes I feel that despite the big amount of books I've read I'm just too much of a layman to determine if a book's well-written or not 🤔

Megabooks I can relate. I‘ve easily read 1000 books in the last 8-10 years, but I still feel my taste is very subjective. Probably less so in nonfiction - especially investigative, but fiction 🤷🏻‍♀️ I like what I like, and I‘m fine with that. 4mo
