Mehso-so

An overwhelmingly meh read that I'd rate as a weak So-so. It aimed for deep and meaningful but missed by a mile and, given the premise, it was weirdly emotionless. From me it elicited zero feels. The tapes that are central to the plot seem off to me - they read like the written word & not like natural speech at all. They also contained way too much stuff that was obviously exposition for the benefit of the reader. I found the dialogue...cont. ⬇️⬇️

readingjedi ...clunky, cheesy, drawn out, uninteresting and kinda fake. In fact, the whole thing lacked a ring of authenticity. The character of Maggie was so unconvincing, thinly drawn and so obviously created & tacked on as a prop for the plot. The ending was predictable and twee. 6y
cookreadsleep Thank you for showing me that it is possible to write a review that exceeds the character limit! Also, thanks for letting me know to skip this one! I'm surprised you picked So-So and not Pass. 6y
readingjedi @cookreadsleep You're welcome! I nearly always spill over into the comments. I gave this one So-So rather than Pass as it was mildly entertaining, I suppose, I just didn't like it very much 🤷🏼‍♀️ 6y
