I finally finished this book. I have been doing a lot of buddy reads in May. This is book 2, and the plot line is good if you get over all the sex lol. I was looking at my library wishlist and noticed that Adolf Hitler: My Part in His Downfall by Spike Milligan was still there. I listened to it a while back, so I removed it from my wishlist. The library gave me a notification saying “Adolph Hitler has been removed from your wishlist.“

If only it was that easy!

This was my first Briscoe book and it was a solid read.
I found I liked the Mason POV chapters more overall and his character was well rounded and more interesting to me than Karina's.

I liked the overall pacing of the story, but not having read the other books in the series, the subplot of the Moonshine case was a bit meh for me but I'm sure it works in the larger sense .

3) Rose Garden walk.
4) Silo getting his claws stuck in my son's shirt and then forgetting how to use his legs.
5) This pipe on our regular walking route that looks like a tiny robot guy from one angle, which I find delightful.

Oh, my, this book started off way slow for me. I thought about DNFing it, but I plowed along. The last 15% to 20% picked up, thank goodness. It takes place in Ireland and England.

Clara goes off to school in Belfast. Jenny, her mom, surprises her with a visit. Jenny decides to bring her home, but Clara disappears at the train station.

I figured out quite a lot of this book before it actually happened.

Okay, sometimes this lovely meme is exactly what I need to realize remember and reinforce that my life does not suck, yaknow? Firstly, and non pictured here is that I received 4 personal letters today that cheered me beyond explanation. Also, as I prep this? Hub and I are having a terrific conversation and the weather is amazing. 2. Had my annual health check ✔️ 3. Zinnias!!! Cosmos!! 4. Red wine “happy camper” 🏕️ 5 . Upcoming trip to KCMO 💖 🪁

I don't think I've ever participated in this before but... 1) My daughter has finished the semester! (CC) She worked very hard but needed so much support, I feel like I took a class too!

2) I wrote in depth about a book! Doesn't happen that much anymore and it makes me happy.

3) Fresh peas from the garden, so nummy.

4) The pressure-reducing plans I made for this month were pretty successful.

5) Solved a phrazle in one move. 😎

A nice variety this month. Contemporary romance, literary fiction, fantasy romance and audiobook nonfiction.

I‘ve read 20/24 rolled #Roll100 books from Jan-Apr. I have 2 lists— audiobooks & ebooks/physical books.
The #LittensLoveACOTAR group is moving on to the Throne of Glass series so I‘ll read Assassin‘s Blade when we get to it. My goal is to complete the other three books by the end of July.

I read 5/6 rolled #Roll100 books this month. I started Bake It to the Limit but put it aside when several library holds came in at once. I‘m going to pick it up this weekend.

Currant Creek Valley was my favorite of the five I finished.

When I say I've got a little bit of everything on my bookshelves, I do mean EVERYTHING!

ETA: I was able to gently catch this little fledgling and release it outside safely. Didn't seem injured in any way, just a bit freaked out from being trapped inside!

Honestly though, I am really struggling at the moment. It‘s been a shitty eight months and I am not handling it well (I am also extremely exhausted; I can sleep, just not to clear the cobwebs). And it‘s been worse since my grandma passed two weeks ago. I am trying to find moments where I am able to be happy, but @ the moment they are few & far between).
