Amor Towles or Flannery O‘Connor
I would ask them about their childhoods, their best friends, and what most influenced their writing.

My #bookspin list for July -- I feel like I should have more audiobooks, since I'm finally moving at the end of this month. I don't know why it takes me MONTHS to prepare for a (crosstown) move, and I still end up scrambling at the last minute! To be fair, decluttering sentimental items (including tons of my mom's paperwork/letters), has posed a bigger challenge. Now how many of these books can I avoid packing??

It has to be Wednesday in some parts of the world! Okay, whatcha got? What do we NOT care about this week/day/month/year ... Feel free to use the template above to post, or comment below: whatever knocks your socks off. WE DO NOT CARE how you present, just do it (as Nike would say). And please tag me so I can be sure to enjoy them! 🤗

One of my yearly goals is to read less than 50% of books from Authors / Set in the US
Some day I would love to throw England into this, and read half books US+England and half from the rest of the world, but I am really not there yet.
But for 25 I am doing pretty good with 44% US based books, and the rest from 19 other countries.
Okay half way through the year.
Here is how I am looking, how are you doing?
94/100 books read
30,818 /50,000 (62%) pages read
I have read 7 books over 500pgs my goal is 12 so I am right on track there.
My nonfiction reading is needing a bit of focus, I am currently at 19% when my goal is always 25%

Happy Canada Day to all the Canadian Littens! I'm beyond excited to be there exactly one month from today, visiting New Brunswick with @TheLudicReader. I think one of our day's excursions might be to look for a home to escape the lunacy of this country.
Happiest day to you all! ♥️🇨🇦🤍
Last week I took myself off on an photography course to try intentional camera movement. It was so fun to run away from real life and try something new and for the simple pleasure of trying new things I wrote this one . And share this photo from my day … @dabbe

I can't believe I turn 60 this Bastille Day. Yet every time a body part creaks, I smile in recognition.
Sixty this July.
Mirror whispers, “How can that be?“
Time's swift river flows.
Happy Canada Day!! 🇨🇦 to all of my Canadian friends!

Though I read 63 books, at least 15 were novellas under 50 pages. 9 of the 63 were part of series. Page total was 11,752.

Taking stock of my #Roll100 progress at the half year mark. The majority have been owned books from my shelves and I hope I can keep the momentum up in the second half.🤞
Many thanks @PuddleJumper for making this happen! 😊
Stressful #mentalhealthmonday
June was a fabulous reading month! I somehow read 22 books! Here are the top 12.
Obviously I am a BIG mood reader. 😂
Status update on my reading goal now that we're halfway through the year. Not bad...I think I can do it!

hum in my heart's core.
I had Friday off work so it‘s quite greedy to want Monday off … and yet ! We don‘t get many nights where you can still be outside at 10 pm so I am taking this one @dabbe

Who else is with me? After work it‘s;
1. PJs on
2. cup of tea
3. Sofa with a book
I have had a lot of train revel in the last 24 hours and my hopes for peaceful reading time did not go quite as planned! @dabbe

Darcy is trying to escape a marriage proposal. After discovering a mysterious object , she finds herself transported into the 1990s. She arrives on the set of a movie being filmed at Pemberley House. She is a witness to a murder and has the help from a handsome man called Quinn. Meanwhile back in time, trouble is brewing back at her home, back in time.
I really wanted to enjoy this book but I felt it focused on Quinn and Georgina‘s relationship.

Listening to ocean sounds from A Soft Murmur inspired this haiku today. 💙🌊💙
If you'd like to make your own ambient mix, here's the link: https://asoftmurmur.com/
When I need to just be,
the soft murmurs of the sea
call gently to me.
I‘ve been blocked! I guess I should be flattered? I wrote a #haikuaday about it.
Friendly reminder:
You can mute tags you don‘t like
No need to block me
In this case, the tags to mute are #ranttime & #longtimefed and I‘ll try to keep the blatant political “stuff” contained to those. I have to say, though, that blocking is the “nuclear” option, when unfollowing serves the same purpose.
I explained my rationale before. I‘ll still speak my mind.
I just got a new android phone and my Litsy app was the only thing that didn't transfer over. I googled for a reason and read some posts from 2 yrs ago that the app was no longer available. Then I read from one year ago that there was a work-around which also did not
work for me. Is anyone else familiar with this issue? For now I am posting from the website.
1. I watched this show about wild cats on the Kanopy app.
2. I watched Remember The Titans. I saw it when I was a little girl but I forgot that I‘ve seen it.
3. I finished my chicken salad from last night and had some tuna fish salad with it.
4&5. I reapplied for St. Martin‘s Press Early Readers Program after being in it for years and I got rejected but at least I get to read ARCs for The Smuthood PR and Chasing Books PR.
