Today‘s haiku (I‘m caught up now) takes inspiration from the deep respect I have for my fellow “hivers” who dare to go to some deep dark places with their poems. I‘m a little afraid of getting stuck in the dark places, so I feel the need to keep mine pretty light. Also, the pit of despair is a wee bit dramatic, but I love me some Princess Bride!😉

Go deeper I think,
But if I dig down that far,
Can I climb back out?

Cake Pop Casualties | Addison Moore

Still a day behind in my daily haikus, this should be yesterday‘s. My inspiration: a coworker sweetly brought me a cake pop to our meeting. I have decided after much (ok, maybe just some…) tasting & deliberation, I just don‘t like them. It‘s a texture thing—I‘m not a fan of cookie dough! 🤷🏻‍♀️

A single bite speaks;
Not cake, not quite cookie dough
Just wrong in my mouth!

julesG Unfortunately, I was overthinking a weekend trip and the packing thereof. That spiralled easily. Well, I've got most things packed and made a list of what needs to be packed and what needs to be done before I leave tomorrow. 😉 Luckily it's a public holiday in my part of Germany and I might be able to nap later. 1d

AnnCrystal Perhaps try visualizing two images at the exact same time (e.g. a rabbit eating a carrot and a kangaroo hopping along). Individual, separated images at exactly the same time.

Or perhaps, try air drawing. Imagine drawing images with your eyes only. As simple or as detailed as you want.

dabbe The rhyming is very powerful here. 🖤🐝🖤 Here's a game to play when you overthink or are trying to fall asleep: Pick a category--like books! Then go through the alphabet and name 1-3 that start with that letter. So, for “A“ you might think ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL, ANNE OF GREEN GABLES, and ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN, THE (I use “the“ and “a“ however I feel like). I guarantee you'll fall asleep before you get to Z. 😘 19h
